If you are planning a trip to Dubai soon, you will certainly not want to miss the opportunity to visit the observatory of the Burj Khalifa building, the tallest in the world with its 828 meters high!

It is, therefore, one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city and tickets to crown the top of the Burj Khalifa fly. But do you know how much they cost? In this post I explain everything you need to know to organize the budget of the visit.

The observatory At The Top of the Burj Khalifa is the great architectural jewel of Dubai and the tallest building on the planet from which you can enjoy spectacular views of the desert, the ocean and the skyline of the city at 442 meters high. To visit you have two options:

  • Entrance to the Burj Khalifa (floors 124 and 125), at a price from $50, with which you will have access to the exterior and interior viewpoint of the 124th and 125th floors of the Burj Khalifa. It is the best option if you have a limited budget but do not want to miss the experience of seeing the Burj Khalifa inside and climb to its observatory.
  • Entrance to the Burj Khalifa (floors 124, 125 and 148), at a price from $140, with which you can also climb to the observatory At The Top Sky which is located several meters above on the 148th floor. One of the advantages of this entrance to the observatory of the Burj Khalifa is that you can enter skipping the queues and take directly the super-fast elevator that in a few seconds will take you up to the sky of Dubai. In addition, you will enjoy a guided introduction.

At the At The Top observation deck, a breathtaking panoramic view of the city awaits you: Dubai Mall, Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, Business Bay, The World Islands and the Persian Gulf, among other sites - get up close to the Burj Khalifa's telescopes for an unobstructed view!

From 130 € price you can get a premium ticket to the observatory At The Top Sky of the Burj Khalifa. Located on the 148th floor, this is the highest observation deck in the world at 555 meters high.

The super-fast elevator will first take you to the indoor and outdoor platform on floors 124 and 125 of the skyscraper, where you can spend some time contemplating the views before enjoying the main course that awaits you a little higher up. Or you can go straight to At The Top Sky, the world's highest observatory. The views of Dubai from there are breathtaking: Burj Al Arab, Dubai Mall, Palm Jumeirah, the Persian Gulf, Business Bay or The World Islands, among other locations.

The price of this ticket is more expensive, but climbing to the top of the Burj Khalifa is one of the most amazing experiences you can't miss during your vacation, you won't regret paying it! Plus, it includes a small snack with Arabic coffee to savor the moment even more.

When is the entrance fee to the Burj Khalifa Observatories the cheapest?

When buying tickets to visit the Burj Khalifa observation decks you should keep in mind that these usually vary in price depending on the time of day, being more expensive for peak hours.

So, if you are looking to save a little when doing this activity, my advice is to choose an off-peak hour where the price is cheaper.

In addition, you will have the advantage that in these time slots there are usually fewer people at the attraction so you will enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the city in more exclusive conditions than if you do it in full rush hour as it can be, for example, the sunset or contemplate the views from the Burj Khalifa at night. Below, I leave you a post about tickets to crown the summit of the Burj Khalifa so you know everything you can enjoy.

How much do tickets to the Burj Khalifa observatories cost at the box office?

Another possibility to enter the Burj Khalifa observation decks is to purchase tickets at the skyscraper's own ticket offices. The prices are as follows:

  • Observatory At The Top
  • 124th and 125th floors
  • General admission price
  • Adults (over 12 years old): From 35 €.
  • Children (from 4 to 12 years old): From 25 €
  • Observatory At The Top Sky
  • 148th floor
  • General admission price
  • Adults (over 12 years old): From 120 €.
  • Children (from 4 to 12 years old): From 120 €.

However, it is not the option that I recommend the most because to get them you have to queue very long and nothing guarantees that there is space available for you to go up on the same day or that they are not sold out for the date and time you had planned.

For these reasons, my advice is to play it safe and secure your place at the Burj Khalifa by buying tickets online and in advance of your travel date, when the time comes you will only have to worry about enjoying yourself, not about finding available tickets at the box office!

Can I visit the Burj Khalifa Observatory with a tourist card? How much does it cost?

That's right! The entrance to the observatory At The Top of the Burj Khalifa is included, for example, in two of the tourist passes of the city such as the Go Dubai Card (from 276 €) and the Dubai Explorer Pass (from 185 €).

Buying a tourist card to visit a city as luxurious as Dubai is, in my opinion, a good idea because it will allow you to visit the main tourist attractions of the city and do a lot of activities while saving money. Something that always comes in handy. And best of all, priority access to the most relevant sights of the city. Time is money!

Another advantage of these tourist passes is that during the vacations you can benefit from interesting discounts in different areas of Dubai.

We compare Dubai tourist cards

  • Dubai Explorer Pass
  • From 185 €.
  • Choose from 3 to 7 Dubai attractions to visit.
  • More than 45 attractions to choose from.
  • Valid for 60 days from the first activation.
  • Go Dubai Card
  • From 276 €.
  • Visit all the attractions you want with 2 to 7 day passes.
  • More than 30 attractions to choose from.
  • Valid for 15 days from the first activation.

Do children pay admission at the Burj Khalifa Observatory? Can you save a little on your tickets?

Children under 4 years old can access the observation deck for free while those older than that age need to have their own ticket just like adults.

If you would like to save a little on the budget to visit this skyscraper you should know that there are reduced rates for children to the observatory At The Top from 25 € (for the viewpoint of the 148th floor the entrance fee is the same as the adult).

You can take advantage of the money you save to give the kids some souvenirs in the souvenir store of the Burj Khalifa. They will be very excited!

Can I visit the Burj Khalifa observatories for free?

No, this is not possible. Every visitor must have their own ticket to access the Burj Khalifa observation decks. Various prices are available. Only children under 4 years old can enter the attraction for free if accompanied by an adult.

The same applies to the other areas inside the Burj Khalifa skyscraper. For example, in order to visit the restaurant or the hotel you need to have a reservation. Being such a luxurious place with this measure they seek to prevent the skyscraper from losing its exclusivity and become a mass tourist attraction.

How much does it cost to get to the observatories of the Burj Khalifa?

Waiting for the Metro| ©Fabio Achilli

It depends on the way you choose to go to the attraction although it won't cost you too much because transportation in Dubai is not very expensive. Walking around Downtown Dubai is the cheapest way to get to the Burj Khalifa. If it's not too hot and you have time to spare, I recommend taking a walk to the skyscraper because, in addition to being free and not spending a dirham, you will also enjoy the tour contemplating the desert landscape and the fountains surrounding the complex.

However, if you need to move from one place to another in the city to get quickly to the observatory because you are limited in time, my advice is to take the Dubai Metro whose single ticket costs from 0.80 € depending on the distance of the destination. And if it suits you better to take the bus, you can ride with a ticket that costs from 0.50 € although like the subway the cost varies depending on the distance of the trip.
