The Golden State Warriors franchise—the city’s only one—has had a history that’s as successful as it is nomadic. Founded in Philadelphia, it moved to San Francisco in the 1960s, spent time in Daly City and San Jose, relocated to Oakland, and finally returned to “San Fran” in the fall of 2019. That’s why its name doesn’t mention the city itself, but rather the nickname for the state of California: Golden State.

Over the years, the Chase Center has been the stage for some of the greatest players in basketball history: Stephen Curry —the man who revolutionized the team and its mainstay— Klay Thompson —one of the best shooters of all time—Kevin Durant, and Chris Mullin.

In the 2026–27 season, the Warriors face a very different situation after finishing the previous season with a 37–45 record, missing the playoffs, and finishing fourth in the Pacific Division. The team will continue to rely on Stephen Curry as its star player, but the big challenge for Golden State will be rebuilding its competitiveness in the West, leaning on young players like Brandin Podziemski, and finding the right balance in a roster that also features names like Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler.

The Golden State Warriors’ Home Arena

As a general rule, if you want a seat at the Chase Center, I’d say you should budget just under 100 €. On average, that’s the price of a good ticket that guarantees an excellent view of the court. For the most highly anticipated games (big rivalries or playoffs), be prepared to spend much more.

Just like with all other NBA teams, the Warriors’ cheapest games are those scheduled during the week. Another very important factor is buying in advance. Don’t wait until the last minute to secure your seat at the Chase Center. Finally, pay close attention to the opponent.

If you’re a die-hard NBA fan, you’ll know that the Warriors’ biggest rival is the Cleveland Cavaliers. When the Cavs come to the City by the Golden Gate, don’t expect to find cheap tickets.

The Chase Center is a multipurpose arena that seats 18,000 spectators. It cost $1.4 billion to build and is one of the most modern arenas in the country. When the Warriors play, these are the best seats:

• Cache Creek Club: Spanning sections 126 through 129, this section offers close proximity to the court—right behind one of the baskets—as well as access to a premium area with an exclusive atmosphere, various dining options, and bar service.
• JP Morgan Club / Chase Club: If you’re looking for the most exclusive experience, the VIP AA and VIP BB seats provide access to the JP Morgan Club, one of the arena’s most luxurious areas. Meanwhile, sections 2 through 23 include access to the Chase Club, with direct entry to the court level and premium services.
• Sideline Clubs: These correspond to sections 101 through 106 and 113 through 118. Here you’ll find the United Globe Club and the Ultra Club, two of the best options for watching the game from the sidelines with excellent views, premium bars, and a more comfortable experience than the standard bleachers.

No, the Chase Center isn’t just a sports arena—it’s a multipurpose venue that hosts concerts, rallies, events, and more. There’s always something going on, so guided tours aren’t offered. However, there are some attractions and activities in the area that are worth checking out:

• Mission Rock, a new waterfront neighborhood. It consists of approximately 1,500 rental units, 40% of which are reserved for low- and middle-income families. It’s a very interesting project, with small shops and cafes. If you get hungry or feel like a cold beer, head to the Mission Rock Resort (817 Terry A. Francois Boulevard)
• Oracle Park, home of the Giants.
• City Kayak. Just a short distance from the Chase Center, you can rent a kayak and explore the waters surrounding the city. The 2026–27 NBA regular season will begin in October 2026 and run through April 2027. Next comes the most anticipated part of the schedule: the SoFi Play-In Tournament, followed by the playoffs, where the top teams from the Eastern and Western Conferences face off over four rounds: the first round, conference semifinals, conference finals, and the NBA Finals.

As for the Finals, the champion is decided in a best-of-seven series. This means that to win the title, a team must defeat its opponent four times. Typically, the NBA Finals begin in early June.

Important: This does not mean that NBA games—in this case, those of the Golden State Warriors—are only played between October and June. You also need to factor in the preseason, which usually takes place in early October and is a great opportunity to see the team in action at a more affordable price.

Rivals

If you’re looking for a game with a special atmosphere at the Chase Center, matchups against the Los Angeles Lakers remain the most anticipated due to the rivalry, media attention, and the appeal of seeing Stephen Curry and Luka Dončić face off. Games against the Los Angeles Clippers and the Sacramento Kings—two direct Western Conference rivals—also generate a lot of excitement.

On the other hand, referring to the Cleveland Cavaliers as a major current rivalry doesn’t make as much sense as it did during the era of consecutive Finals appearances. Today, the games that really get the Golden State crowd fired up are primarily those against other Western Conference heavyweights.

In American basketball, there are four quarters, each lasting 12 minutes. There is a 15-minute halftime break between the second and third quarters. Playing time is actual game time, and “dead” minutes are not counted. As a result, the total duration can easily reach 2 hours.

It depends on their age. Children under 2 years old can enter the Chase Center for free. However, they must be accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket and must share a seat. Important: All children must wear an identification wristband. You can pick up this wristband for free at Gates 13 or 52.

Where to Eat

There’s no shortage of dining options at the Chase Center. The arena is home to various fast-food restaurants (Bakesale Betty, Hot Dog Bills, La Corneta, etc.) and a few spots offering healthy food (most notably, The Green House and Kaiser Permanente Healthy Picks).

If you don’t want to head inside too early and would rather enjoy the sea breeze, I recommend the following options:

• Spark, a food truck with outdoor seating. From time to time, there’s also live music (601 Mission Bay Boulevard North)
• The Sea Star. Sure, they serve food, but the real stars of the show are the beers and cocktails. Personally, I recommend the Buena Vida (mezcal, gin, dry vermouth, pineapple, lime, and chili) and the Czechs & Balances with bourbon, Jelinek, pepper, and honey (2289 3rd Street)
• Piccino, an Italian restaurant with Californian touches. Perfect if you’re in the mood for a good plate of pasta or a perfectly baked pizza. The desserts are usually homemade (1001 Minnesota Street)
• The Ramp, a restaurant in the DogPatch neighborhood. It features a spacious indoor patio that also hosts parties and concerts. Its menu includes eggs Benedict, salads, soups, sandwiches, and much more (855 Terry Francois Boulevard)

Where to Park

The Chase Center is located in the Mission Bay neighborhood, at the corner of 3rd and 16th Streets. Public transportation is the best way to get there, but if you can’t rely on it, you can park at these garages:

• UCSF Third Street Garage (1650 3rd Street)
• Mercedes-Benz Garage (99 Warriors Way)
• Warriors Way Garage (150 Warriors Way)
• Owens Garage (1800 Owens Street)

Keep in mind that, overall, available parking is quite limited. As for the cost, you’ll need to pay around $50 to park your car while the event is taking place

When should you head to the arena?

On game days, it’s best to arrive at the Chase Center well in advance. The Golden State Warriors have a large fan base, and many fans travel to San Francisco from nearby cities like Oakland or Fremont. To ensure a smooth trip, it’s best to leave early.

The Chase Center offers free Wi-Fi. Simply select the “#XfinityWiFi@ChaseCenter” network and log in on the homepage. Alternatively, if you need to access your email to retrieve your e-ticket, you can use the Wi-Fi networks available at the establishments surrounding the arena. Don’t worry—there are plenty of options.

Public transportation provides connections between the Golden State Warriors’ arena and the rest of the city. To reach your destination, you can use the following options:

• Bus: Lines 55, 78X, and 79X pass near the arena
• Subway: Simply take the T Third Street line and get off at UCSF/Chase Center (16th Street)
• Light rail: The S Shuttle will take you right to the arena. The stop is the same as in the previous point
