If there is a city in Spain where it is impossible to get bored, that is Benidorm, a lively coastal town that has become one of the main tourist destinations both nationally and for the rest of Europe. Benidorm offers its visitors an endless number of activities and things to see and do both in the city and its surroundings.

This town in Alicante was once a small fishing village, however, today it is a popular holiday destination located on the Mediterranean coast and is frequented by young people, couples and even families with children, due to its wide range of activities, stores and entertainment venues with which to spend unforgettable days.

1. Marvel at the beauty of the Mediterranean on a boat trip

As you may already know, one of Benidorm 's main tourist attractions are its beaches and the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea that stretch before them. Therefore, in addition to taking a refreshing swim and sunbathing in the sun while resting on the sand, I encourage you to go a little deeper into the waters that bathe this tourist town so you can contemplate its beauty from another perspective.

Therefore, the first activity that I am going to propose is to book a boat tour in Benidorm, as it will be a fantastic opportunity to admire the coast of Alicante while you relax and enjoy nature during a quiet ride. Also, depending on the tour you decide to book, it may include some extras such as the option to enjoy alcoholic beverages during the trip.

2. Have fun in a refreshing Water Park

Whether you are traveling to Benidorm with children or not, taking a trip to one of its best water parks is always an exciting and fun activity with which you can have a great time. Therefore, my second recommendation for you, is that if you travel to Benidorm do not miss Aqualandia, a park for the whole family where you can find attractions for all tastes.

In Aqualandia you can find high water slides to slide down, numerous pools where you can cool off and different playgrounds and children's areas for the little ones. In addition, depending on the type of fun you are looking for, you will have the opportunity to choose between three different routes to follow throughout the extensive park.

The first route is the quietest and is designed for families and for people who are not fans of strong emotions. The second is the friends route and along the way you will pass through both more relaxed attractions and some more exciting ones. And finally, the third and last one is the extreme route, designed for adrenaline lovers. But most important of all, with this plan you will spend a day you will never forget.

If you are a sports fan or simply looking for an exciting experience, a perfect activity to do during your trip to Benidorm is to take a kayak tour. The surroundings of Benidorm are full of beautiful coves of golden sand and calm waters that are the ideal place for this exciting water sport.

Also, if you decide to take a kayak tour around Benidorm, you will have the opportunity to enter mysterious sea caves, which can only be accessed by this means of transport, or sometimes small boats. During the ride, you can glide through the blue waters of the Mediterranean while contemplating the beauty of the natural landscapes around you.

Of course, throughout the activity you will be accompanied by a team of experts who will explain the secrets of this fun sport and guide you through the most interesting corners of the coast. And as if that were not enough, some of these tours even include the option of snorkeling in order to contemplate the spectacular seabed.

Imagine contemplating the Costa Blanca from the heights while flying over the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. This activity is one of the most exciting and original that you can do during your trip, plus you will enjoy privileged panoramic views of the beaches of Alicante. If you book this fantastic activity, you will have the opportunity to ride a boat with your friends or family, or join an available group.

To start the tour, a bus will pick you up directly at your accommodation and take you to the top of Mount Aitana. There, you can start your bike tour, which is included in the price of the activity. During the following hours, you will make a long but quiet tour in which you can enjoy wonderful views while passing by mountains, imposing gorges, Moorish castles, picturesque villages and valleys.

What is the best time of the year to visit Benidorm?

Benidorm enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with August being the warmest month with an average temperature of about 31ºC and January the coldest, with an average temperature of 17 C. Rainfall in this town is scarce, however, the rainiest months would be from September to November, March and April. So if we base ourselves on the climate, the most pleasant months to travel to Benidorm would be from May to August.

However, we must take into account that during these months the tourist influx soars, so prices inevitably rise. The peak season would be during the months of July and August, so accommodation at this time can be difficult to find if not booked well in advance, plus establishments such as bars and restaurants can be quite full.

With all this in mind, my advice if you are planning a trip to the lively city of Benidorm, is to do so between the months of May and August so you can enjoy the ideal weather and fantastic beaches. However, I strongly recommend that you book your accommodation well in advance, to avoid excessive price increases or little variety of accommodation available. I also encourage you to book your activities and tickets before your trip, to avoid the unpleasant surprise of full capacity or no tickets left.

If you have already decided that the lively Benidorm is going to be the destination of your next vacation, read on and I will tell you some tips to enjoy your trip:

Book your accommodation well in advance

Benidorm has become one of the favorite holiday destinations both nationally and internationally. As a consequence, hotels and vacation rental apartments are packed during the high season months. In addition, their prices tend to go up. So, my first piece of advice is to get ahead of the rest of the tourists and book your accommodation well in advance.

Book excursions and activities in advance

As with accommodation, if you travel to Benidorm in high season the places available for certain activities or excursions may be full. Therefore, it is advisable that before you make your trip you book your activities to ensure that you will not miss anything in this fun city.

Dress appropriately for the occasion

As mentioned above, Benidorm has a Mediterranean climate, with quite pleasant temperatures both in summer and winter and without excessive rainfall.

With this in mind, if you travel to Benidorm in summer, it is advisable to wear cool and light clothing, as well as comfortable clothes for sightseeing. Of course, you cannot forget your swimsuit, as Benidorm's beaches are one of its main attractions.

If on the other hand you travel to Benidorm during the winter, you should bring some warm clothes, especially for the night. However, the cold in this area is not excessive, so you can wear lighter clothing for the rest of the day. Of course, don't forget to wear comfortable shoes for your walks.

Bring sunscreen and sunglasses

Whether you travel to Benidorm during the winter or summer, you are likely to encounter sunny weather, as rainfall is scarce in this part of the country. Therefore, it is always advisable that both your eyes and your skin are well protected from the sun, so sunscreen and sunglasses should be a must in your luggage.

In addition, the sunscreen should be appropriate for your skin type and the time you will be exposed to the sun and the glasses should have UV protection and it is recommended that they are also polarized.
