Halloween is one of the most significant events in the calendar of the most famous theme park in Europe. So much so that it goes beyond the night of October 31 and marks an entire season that begins on October 1 and ends on November 7. If you travel to Paris on those dates, buying Disney tickets is highly recommended.
During this period we can enjoy a wide variety of activities related to Halloween and that can only be enjoyed on these dates. The villains of the movies invade the park, its streets are decorated in a terrifying way and there are special events. If you want to find out what are the particularities of this event and what we can do in Disneyland Paris on Halloween just keep reading.
1. Step into the enchanted mansion of Phantom Manor

Logically, and being an amusement park, the best thing to do to get into the Halloween atmosphere is to visit the most terrifying attractions. The haunted mansion of Phantom Manor is the most popular of the park in terms of terror. It is located in the Frontierland area of Disneyland Park and recreates a wooden mansion from the Wild West.
Inside, ghosts and other surprises await and will try to give visitors more than one scare. The special effects and holograms are very successful and get us fully into a terrifying but fun atmosphere. Children can enter perfectly although there are many areas of darkness that perhaps the most frightened do not enjoy so much.
2. The scariest side of Hollywood. Tower of Terror

In the second park of the Disney complex, the Walt Disney Studios, there is also room for terror. This park is set in the world of movies and television and everything behind the screens. If you want to experience an experience similar to horror movies, The Hollywood Tower is the right attraction.
In the Production Courtyard area and in the midst of the typical glamour of Los Angeles is this tower that in the golden age of Hollywood was a hotel and now has fallen into disrepair and its only tenants are spirits and evil spirits. The peculiarity of this attraction is that there is not a single route and it changes randomly. So each visitor has a different experience but always with the horror present.
3. Halloween in its purest form. The Halloween Soirée

The central event of the festival is the Halloween Soirée. It is held on October 31 and is paid separately from the park entrance fee. It starts at 8:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. and is exclusive to those who have obtained a ticket. Some of the attractions are kept open while unique events are held that night such as:
- A final show whose stars are some of Disney's most well-known villains such as Maleficent, Captain Hook or Jafar.
- A skeleton party hosted by none other than Goofy and his son Max.
- If you want to become a pirate, Captain Hook will teach you in an interactive show called "Captain Hook's Pirate Academy".
- If you like to dance in different areas of the park are enabled dance floors with different styles and where you can dance with some of the Disney characters.
- Another highlight of the party is a special ride called "Mickey's Halloween Surprise".
The price of tickets to this special event is usually around 89 euros. If you want to attend this party you should hurry and get your tickets well in advance as they are always sold out.
4. Meet the Disney villains

The Halloween festival is a unique opportunity to meet the most famous villains of the Disney world. At this time of the year they are the stars of the park and it is more common to see them in the park. But don't worry, off-screen they are friendlier and you can take a picture with them without any problem. Jafar, Cruella de Vil, or Captain Hook are some of the villains you can meet.
The symbol of Disneyland Paris, Sleeping Beauty's castle, changes radically during the festival and it's because of Maleficent. The evil witch will cast a spell that will transform the castle and will guard it with the help of other villains.
Collect selfies with your favorite characters
Another of the things we can do in Disney during these dates is to collect selfies with the most famous villains and characters. To do this, the main characters of the movies will randomly approach the Studio Theater under Sleeping Beauty's castle so that we can take pictures with them. There are no fixed schedules so stay tuned.
5. Disney characters in special costumes

All year long we get to meet Mickey, Donald, Goofy and company but only on Halloween can we see them in their special costumes. Taking advantage of the festival all Disney characters will wear unique Halloween-themed costumes. The villains have more prominence but they share it with Mickey and his friends. Who doesn't want to see Mickey dressed as a witch or Goofy as a pumpkin?
The fantasyland area is still doing the "Meet Mickey" show where you can meet Goofy, Donald, Minnie and many more. All of them in their Halloween costumes.
6. A unique atmosphere thanks to the decoration of the park

One of the main attractions of Disney's Halloween festival is its decoration. All the streets and attractions show the typical decorative elements such as pumpkins or spider webs but taken to the next level. The level of detail of the Halloween decorations is overwhelming. For this reason alone, it is highly recommended to visit Disney during the Halloween festival.
In addition to the typical pumpkins and spider webs, there are special areas such as Frontierland, which is inspired by the Pixar movie Coco, which talks about the Day of the Dead.
7. Experience the special Halloween parade

Almost every day Disney celebrates its traditional parade with spectacular floats and dances accompanied by its most famous characters. On Halloween, the floats are transformed, they become more terrifying and their protagonists dress up according to the occasion.
The main novelty is the Sleeping Beauty dragon who comes out of his cave to participate in the parade and delights the audience by spitting flames out of his mouth.
8. Special food at the restaurants

All the elements of the park are transformed to contribute to the Halloween atmosphere and the food in the restaurants could not be less.
Special menus are made in which drinks are changed for potions and the usual dishes give way to traditional Halloween cakes and sweets. Disneyland Paris restaurants are also decorated with elements in keeping with the holiday. The premises of the Disney Village area, a separate area for leisure with restaurants and stores, are also adapted to the atmosphere of the rest of the park.
9. Shop for Halloween souvenirs

So that your experience doesn't just stay in your memory, the park's stores also sell special Halloween souvenirs. From costumes to candy to stuffed animals and figures of your favorite characters in Halloween costumes.
The best stores to get your Halloween souvenirs are Thunder Mesa Mercantile Building in Frontierland, and Tower Hotel Gifts in Walt Disney Studios.
10. Dress up as your favorite characters

During the rest of the year, children can dress up as their favorite Disney characters, but not adults, since the park forbids it. But on Halloween an exception is made and adults who want to come in costume are allowed to enter.
It is a good opportunity to show off a good and terrifying costume as a family. If you lack ideas or do not have a costume in the park stores there are many options to dress up as the Disney character of your choice. Don't waste the opportunity.
Disney's Halloween crowds at Halloween

In spite of the low season dates in Paris, the Halloween festival makes visits to Disneyland rebound. As October 31st approaches, visitors and queues at Disneyland' s best attractions increase, since Halloween itself is one of the busiest days of the year. If you want to enjoy the atmosphere without the hustle and bustle, it is best to go at the beginning or middle of the month and during the week.
And if you want to go to the party on the 31st you should know that there is a lot of demand and all available tickets are always sold out. In the days around this date, taking into account that November 1 is a holiday in France, there is a greater influx of visitors.
Disney Halloween prices

As these are dates with high demand, prices at Disney are somewhat higher. Especially on the days closest to Halloween, hotels fill up and getting a room is more complicated and somewhat more expensive. Tickets for the park maintain their standard rate except for the ticket for the party on the 31st, which is sold separately and starts at 89€.
What to pack to visit Disney on Halloween

In late October and early November the cold starts to arrive in Paris so warm clothes are a must. Keep in mind that the park is mostly outdoors. To walk the entire park you will have to walk a lot so wear comfortable shoes. Carrying an umbrella in your backpack just in case never hurts.
And as a novelty, on Halloween day, adults are exceptionally allowed to wear costumes. So don't forget to pack your Halloween costume. I hope these tips will be useful to enjoy an experience as scary as fun at Disneyland Paris.
