Among the best things to do in Amalfi are the excursions that start in this city and show you all its surroundings. Near Amalfi you can travel to Naples, the island of Capri, Positano, the town of Ravello, among other places. Each excursion includes different experiences and varied destinations for all tastes.

You can travel by boat or in a private vehicle. Some excursions are more cultural and historical, others propose a more relaxed plan for a day at the beach. Choose the one you like the most and spend a pleasant vacation. In all of them you will be accompanied by a local guide who will explain all the details of the sites you visit.

Island of Capri boat excursion: small group from Amalfi

Do you want to make the most of your stay on the Amalfi Coast? If so, you should take a boat tour from this town to the Isle of Capri. I recommend tours for small groups of maximum 12 people. These tours have an average duration of 10 hours and cost approximately 200 €.

Usually, on these tours you must meet your guide and your group at a point in Amalfi and, from there, take a bus that will take you to the port of embarkation. This first leg of the excursion takes about half an hour or more, depending on the area of Amalfi you are in.

When you are on board the boat, your guide will take you along the coast. The first important point you will see is the Natural Arch, a rock formation about 12 meters wide and 20 meters high, formed in the Paleolithic era. Over time, this site took the shape of an arch and you simply have to see it if you go to Capri.

The Faraglioni of Capri are another rock formation; specifically three peaks that have become famous for their peculiar shapes. The first stop will be in the village of Marina Piccola, where you can have lunch and swim. The next sites you will see on this tour before returning to Amalfi are the Grotta Verde, the Punta Carena Lighthouse, the center of Capri and the Grotta Bianca.

Road trips from Amalfi can be very long. If you tend to get carsick on road trips, I recommend that you take a special pill to help dispel the symptoms. Also, bring a bottle of water to refresh yourself along the way. If you are traveling in summer, the heat can be a bit unbearable on the road.

The Amalfi Coast is an area full of picturesque villages, beautiful landscapes and admirable monuments. From the city of Amalfi you can take different excursions by boat or by car to get to know most of the coast.

If you travel to Amalfi, I recommend you to take an excursion to the nearby towns and cities. Take advantage of the proximity to the different sites so that you return home full of memories and beautiful photographs. It is much better to travel on a planned excursion, as you will always have private transportation to take you to all destinations.

In addition to securing transportation, your local guide will help you make the most of your stay at the different sites. With their knowledge you will be able to get directly to the highlights of each destination and you will be able to eat at the best restaurants. If you are interested in a particular destination, you can discuss it with your guide in advance.

On the other hand, private excursions can also include an extra activity beyond exploring a new site. Some give you a different perspective, as you travel by boat, ride a vespa or go wine tasting. Without a doubt, each experience is unique and you will find one that suits your tastes.
