In years when Holy Week falls in April, this is usually the main festival in Mallorca. However, it is not the only celebration that takes place on the island during this spring month. In fact, there are many things to see and do in Mallorca in April.

In this article, I will tell you all about them, but be warned that they range from gastronomic events to fairs in the purest Andalusian style. Keep reading and make your trip to Mallorca in April an unforgettable memory.

1. Discover the Orange Fair

Another of the fairs held in April in Mallorca is the Orange Fair. This festival is unique to the municipality of Sóller, which is located in the Tramuntana mountains. It is one of the most beautiful villages on the island, and I recommend booking an excursion to Sóller to get to know it in depth.

But if you go in April, you'll also be lucky enough to experience the Orange Fair, a gastronomic experience where most of the restaurants in the municipality prepare special menus with oranges as the star ingredient.

In addition, competitions are also organized, such as the one to break the Guinness World Record for the largest amount of orange juice squeezed by hand. You can also attend workshops and discover real treasures at the craft market.

2. Visit the Sant Francesc fair in Muro

We start our list in the municipality of Muro, where the famous Fira de Sant Francesc is held. This event dates back to the 18th century and is one of the best things to do with children in Mallorca. It is an agricultural fair in which all the residents of the area participate.

The fair is held in the area around the Convent of Los Mínimos, and the streets near this building are filled with all kinds of stalls, as well as concerts and all kinds of cultural events.

Muro is one of the oldest municipalities in Mallorca (dating back to the Copper Age) and the entire fair revolves around agriculture, livestock, and crafts, trades that have characterized Muro in the past.

Are you a foodie? You're in luck! You'll be delighted to know that one of the things to do in April in Mallorca is the Calvià Food Fair. This gastronomic event is held in both April and November in the municipality of Calvià.

During the event, the restaurants participating in the program offer passersby full menus at affordable prices. This gives you the opportunity to sample delicious delicacies without breaking the bank.

What's more, if you're traveling to Mallorca with children, you'll be pleased to know that these restaurants also offer children's menus.

Andratx is one of the oldest towns in Mallorca. It is located in the southwest and belongs to the valleys of the Tramontana mountain range. The municipality comprises six towns, all of which are rich in stunning natural beauty.

Among its major tourist attractions are the Sa Coma-Andratx Contemporary Art Center and, of course, the Andratx Fair, which began in 1984.

This event is held every year on the first weekend of April, next to the Passeig de Son Mas. Here, you can stroll through the different stalls selling typical island crafts and food products. There are also children's workshops, animal shows, musical performances, and the Tapas Route.

5. Stroll through the Bargain Fair in Sa Pobla

The municipality of Sa Pobla, also known as La Puebla, is located in the Raiguer region. It is known for its agricultural character, with potato cultivation predominating. In fact, Sa Pobla is home to the most fertile land on the entire island.

Despite being a small town, Sa Pobla offers a wide range of cultural activities, hiding treasures such as the Toy Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art. It also hosts fun events that are perfect for the whole family. Among them, today I want to tell you about the Bargain Fair.

The Sa Pobla Bargain Fair is one of the best things to do in Mallorca in April. During this event, many local businesses set up stalls in the street to offer their products at much more affordable prices.

6. Transport yourself to Seville at the April Fair in Pollença

Would you like to experience Seville's great April Fair but in Mallorca? As a kind of tribute to the Andalusian capital, the municipality of Pollença celebrates its own April Fair every year.

This part of the island is known for its wonderful coves and beaches with crystal-clear waters and rocky areas surrounded by nature. The coast of Pollença becomes a paradise that looks like something out of a painting. Furthermore, I cannot leave out the historic center of this wonderful place, which is steeped in history.

It is to this dreamlike enclave that the April Fair, a three-day celebration, is transferred. The event begins with a parade that winds its way through the different streets of the region and ends at the fairgrounds, where musical performances, horse parades, and, to close the event, a Rociera mass are held.

7. Give a book as a gift on Sant Jordi's Day

The Sant Jordi Festival is celebrated every year on April 23, commemorating the death of Saint George, patron saint of Catalonia. Although this festival is better known in that autonomous community, it is also very important in the popular culture of Mallorca.

Traditionally, men give roses to their loved ones, who in turn give them a book in return. It is therefore a festival in which love and culture go hand in hand. On this day, the different town councils on the island organize activities, children's workshops, and book signings.

However, this festival is even more important in Colonia de Sant Jordi, where, as you may have guessed, this knight is the patron saint. In this area of Mallorca, the celebration lasts for a week, with concerts, art competitions, and exhibitions.

8. Enjoy the Santanyí gastronomic week

Santanyí is a town located in the southeast of the island. It is characterized by its medieval buildings made of golden sandstone, a stone that can only be extracted from the quarries of the municipality.

Beyond its great cultural and scenic appeal, Santanyí is known for its gastronomic week. During these days, the local restaurants offer different menus that showcase their specialties.

9. Visit the Prehistory and Antiquity Fair

Since 2017, the municipality of Artá has hosted the Artalaiòtica Prehistory and Antiquity Fair. At this event, Greek, Talayotic, Roman, and Punic cultures come together, recalling the town's historical past.

The town council organizes various activities for all audiences, promoting knowledge of Artá's history and preventing it from falling into oblivion. These activities include guided tours, plays, workshops, and conferences.

You will also have the opportunity to browse the various craft stalls, as well as the food stalls. The latter sell delicacies typical of the different cultures that have left their mark on Artá. I encourage you to try the tostado de oveja(roasted lamb)!

As if that weren't enough, with the wide range of activities on offer in Mallorca in April, the temperature on the island is wonderful during this month. The average temperature is usually around 15ºC, so the weather is perfect for boat trips, sightseeing, and strolling around without dying of heat.

What's more, with 10 hours of daylight, you'll have time to do everything you've planned before reaching that charming spot where you want to watch the sunset. To do this, I recommend booking a sunset boat trip around Mallorca. You'll love it!

Was a good itinerary but not really a guided tour. Because all info had to be delivered in four languages it only left time for basic info and instructions on meeting times etc. Meant little background info about Mallorca and places we visited was given. Transport was good overall but no commentary on boat or train.

The experience of the flamenco show was immersive, but improved seating arrangements would make it more comfortable for spectators.
