Real Madrid’s stadium is one of the most important in the world. Listing all the historic milestones that have taken place on its field would take too long. Throughout its long history, the club has been covered in glory, and thousands of soccer fans flock here to see the 15 European Cups. However, there is plenty to see on the Santiago Bernabéu stadium tour. Depending on availability and the time of year, you may have the chance to see:

  • "Best Club in History," an audiovisual experience that tells the club’s story.
  • Presidential Box, the most exclusive area. Its seats are reserved for executives, officials, and guests.
  • Interactive Tour, taken aboard a replica of the first-team bus.
  • Trophy Room, the stadium’s crown jewel. The collection is extensive and includes jerseys, Ballon d’Or trophies from legends such as Zidane, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Figo (among others), Golden Boots, and all the cups won over more than a century of history. Screens display the team’s most important goals.

How to get to the Santiago Bernabéu

Madrid Metro| ©Tim Adams

The legendary Real Madrid stadium is located just a few meters from Paseo de la Castellana, one of the city’s longest thoroughfares. Situated in the Hispanoamérica business district—part of the Chamartín district—it benefits from a transportation network that ensures quick travel to both the city center and Barajas Airport.

If a tour of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is part of your plans in Madrid, you can choose from the following options to get there:

  • Metro – The “Santiago Bernabéu” stop (Line 10) is just a short walk from the stadium. If you’re staying near Puerta del Sol, you can take Line 1 toward Pinar de Chamartín, get off at Tribunal, and transfer to Line 10. The trip takes about half an hour. If you’re coming directly from the airport, you have two options: if you land at Terminal 4, you can take the Cercanías (C1 or C10) to Chamartín and, once there, take Line 10 to the “Santiago Bernabéu” stop. On the other hand, if you land at Terminals 1, 2, or 3, you can reach the stadium via Metro Line 8
  • Bus – Lines 14, 27, 40, 43, 120, 126, 147, and 150 connect various parts of the capital with the home of Real Madrid
  • Train – The Nuevos Ministerios station is about a ten-minute walk from the Santiago Bernabéu.
  • Car – If you have a rental car, simply enter the stadium’s address into your GPS. Once you arrive, you’ll need to park in a paid parking lot. However, this isn’t the most convenient option. During matches, many streets are closed to traffic.

  • Materia Prima, a market-style restaurant just a few steps from the stadium. Its specialties include Russian salad, steak tartare, and seafood ceviche (Calle Doctor Fleming 7).
  • Puerta 57, the Bernabéu viewpoint. The main attraction is the large glass window overlooking the stadium’s field. It offers tapas, small plates, and daily specials. If you love soccer, this is a must-visit (Calle Padre Damián s/n). Another option to enjoy the view of the field is the Real Café Bernabéu. It’s famous for its breakfasts and brunch (Avenida Concha Espina 1).
  • Goa, the temple of Basque meat. Txistorras, ribeye steaks, and sirloin steaks come directly from Oyarzun, a town in the province of Guipúzcoa. On game days, you can watch the match on their screens (Calle Doctor Fleming 7, 28036 Madrid).
  • Taberna del Volapié, a restaurant chain specializing in Andalusian cuisine. The menu is varied and includes healthy salads, sandwiches, fish dishes, croquettes, and much more (Paseo de la Castellana 144).
