With this excursion to Berchtesgaden and the Eagle's Nest from Salzburg you will have the opportunity to approach the history of World War II from a different perspective. The tour starts with a comfortable ride in an air-conditioned bus towards the Bavarian border.
On the way, you'll be able to take in the alpine scenery and enjoy views of sights such as Hellbrunn Castle, the valley of Lake Königsee and the farm-filled mountains. Once in Obersalzburg, a mountain village, you will ascend the Hoher Göll mountain to the Eagle's Nest.
To enter this retreat, you will have to take an authentic brass lift from World War II. You will follow the same route that Hitler's guests followed at the time.
The Eagle's Nest was built for Hitler's 50th birthday and has spectacular views of the mountain. You will learn all about the history of this place from the live commentary of the expert local guide who will accompany you.
