This tourist pass has a very simple operation. You must specify the type of card you want (1, 2, 3 or 5 days) and manage the purchase online. Then you will receive a QR code on your cell phone, which you must scan at the ticket office of the attraction visited or when taking one of the best tours of Stockholm included in the pass.

You should know that the pass works as a voucher, so it is subject to a specific credit, that is, it has a maximum amount of money according to the number of days. Therefore, you can visit as many attractions as you wish until you reach the value of the card.

The pass is activated when you scan it for the first time. For example, when you visit the Viking Museum in Stockholm or take a sightseeing bus tour of Stockholm, it will be activated automatically. From that moment on, the digital card will be valid for 24, 48, 72 or 120 consecutive hours. Unactivated passes are valid for up to a couple of years.

When is the best time to buy the Stockholm Sightseeing Pass?

Buying the Stockholm Sightseeing Pass is convenient when you want to visit the main attractions of the city without spending a lot of money. Basically, you will save up to 50% when it comes to buying tickets individually. Also, this card is suitable if you want to participate in boat trips, kayaking activities and other experiences.

And is that, for example, a 24-hour pass has an approximate value of 65 € and access to a number of places, such as the Vasa Museum, the Nobel Museum, the Nordic Museum, the Stockholm Cathedral, the Fotografiska Museum, the Royal Palace, the tourist bus, among others. But, if you use those 65€ in individual tickets, then you would only be able to access about three destinations, for example: the Royal Palace, the tourist bus and the Skansen Open Air Museum in Stockholm.

Another convenient aspect of these tourist passes is that they are electronic. Therefore, you only need to scan the QR code from the screen of your cell phone at the ticket office of the attraction. This way, you will avoid the inconvenience of having to exchange currency or worrying that your credit card is not accepted at the place you are visiting.

When is it not convenient to buy the Stockholm Tourist Pass?

This tourist pass might not be convenient if you plan to travel to Stockholm in November and up to March, i.e. during the winter season. Throughout this period many attractions close their doors or reduce opening hours due to weather conditions and this could certainly limit your itinerary.

In fact, there are several boat tours that do not operate in winter. Such is the case of the boat tour offered by the Stockholm sightseeing bus, which corresponds to the green route, speedboat excursions and other cruises in the archipelago. In addition, museums such as the Vaxholm Fortress, the Drottningholm Palace Theater, among others, remain closed.

Also, until the month of March in Stockholm you will find many free activities, which could detract from the attractiveness of the tourist card, whose premise is to allow you to save on your itinerary. For all this, it is ideal that you take a look at the schedules of the attractions offeredin the all-inclusive pass of Stockholm and, depending on your tastes, time, budget and needs, decide whether it is convenient for you to purchase it.

The Swedish capital has a unique tourist card, better known as the all-inclusive Stockholm Go City Pass. As I have already mentioned, this is an electronic voucher with which you can access all the attractions and activities you want over a period of time.

With this pass you must take into consideration that, according to the number of days purchased (1, 2, 3 or 5), you will have a fixed credit with which you can visit the attractions. However, this does not mean that these are different tourist passes, since with any of these options you can access the same museums, monuments, tours, excursions and experiences.

For example, with the 1-day pass you will have a credit of approximately 225€, while the 2-day pass has a maximum amount of about 385€. The 3-day pass in Stockholm corresponds to about €519 and the credit for the 5-day pass is at least €761.

Tips to get the most out of your Stockholm Sightseeing Pass

If you've decided that you'd like to purchase the Stockholm Sightseeing Pass for your visit to Stockholm, then you should consider some basic tips to help you get the most out of this popular e-pass.

Don't make impromptu visits

Stockholm Sightseeing Cards are a great tool for exploring many attractions, but if you do your sightseeing on the spur of the moment, you will end up wasting time and not taking advantage of everything the e-pass has to offer. Therefore, it is important that you plan your time in the city, especially if it is a short period of 1 or 2 days in Stockholm.

Ideally, prior to your trip, make a small itinerary with the attractions and activities you want to visit during your stay. Then you should organize them according to their location and schedules. This way, you won't have to run from one place to another in search of each destination.

Use the Tourist Card Mobile App

With the Stockholm All Inclusive Pass or, as it is commonly known, Stockholm Tourist Card, you will have a mobile application that will allow you to monitor everything related to your pass.

You will have access to the list of attractions and information on each of the museums, monuments and destinations included in the card. You will also be able to use a map of the city to know the distance between each attraction and the fastest access routes to move around the city.

Check attraction schedules

Check the schedules of the attractions offered by the tourist card is something you cannot miss. Depending on the season of the year, you will find destinations that reduce or extend the opening and closing hours, which can affect the rhythm of your itinerary.

For example, if you are in Stockholm in winter and plan to visit the Nobel Prize Museum in Stockholm, it will be closed on Mondays, open on Tuesdays (11:00 to 20:00 hours) and the rest of the week from 11:00 to 17:00 hours. This is in contrast to the summer season, which is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00.

Also, please note that some activities are closed on Swedish public holidays. You don't want to activate your card on a day when opening hours are limited.
