Remember that at the Sea Life it is mandatory to book your time in advance. The ideal travel scenario is to make the itinerary of the day, for example buying your tickets for the best tourist buses in Munich having checked the route and thus take advantage of the walk through the different points of the city that you can visit, such as this aquarium.

If you want to make the most of your visit to Germany, I recommend you to buy your tickets in advance. Anyway, at least in the case of this Sea Life, you will have to go to their website to book.

The stars of the aquarium are:

The sharks

With more than 20 species living in its facilities, this is the aquarium with the largest variety of sharks in Germany.

Here you will find the carpet sharks - of Japanese origin - as well as cat sharks, dog sharks and other species. They live together in a special huge ocean basin.

They are undoubtedly the main attraction of the place, you can not miss the basin with these feisty fish, especially if you want to meet the HAI-LIGHT nurse shark, a Pünktchen zebra shark that dominates the terrain at ease.

The tropical island

In the depths of the ocean there are dangerous animals as well as its shores and in the Munich Sea Life a special selection of these species is gathered.

Poisonous frogs, green water dragons, huge turtles, giant insects, reptiles... a whole tropical island on German soil.

Cetaceans and others

Variety of cetaceans and other marine species such as sturgeons, the dreaded compass jellyfish and other rescued animals.

  • Reserve in advance. Other aquariums allow purchase at the box office, but in this case you can only pay for pre-booked tickets. You may quickly log in with your phone and make a last minute purchase but it's a lottery. The place is as small as it is cozy and kids usually have a great time enjoying the activities and marine life.
  • Leave your pet at home. Sea Life Aquarium Munich does not allow pets. However, in the case of pet dogs, your best friend will be welcome, you just have to present the documentation supporting their official function.
  • Be on time for your appointment. Try to arrive at the aquarium at least 10 minutes before the agreed time and date to respect the organization of the place, your time and that of other visitors. The aquarium staff does not guarantee that you will be able to access the next available time slot and itinerary changes are only accepted in advance.
On the other hand, if you arrive early and have small children, you can use one of the stools at the entrance to facilitate a clearer view of the pools. There is no charge, but please remember to leave them at the ticket office at the exit so that other visitors can use them.
  • The aquarium accepts babies, in fact up to 2 years old they enter free of charge. However, strollers are not recommended. Some areas are narrow and for the best view of everyone they will allow you to leave them at the entrance of the aquarium free of charge.
