Finally, I do not recommend adding Macao Beach to your list of things to do with kids in Punta Cana, as the waves can be a bit rough, especially if the kids do not know how to swim. Some people even go to Macao Beach for surfing because of its waves.

To visit Macao Beach on your own you need to take a cab. If you do this you won't be able to make stops along the way, or maybe you will, but you will have to pay a bit more to your driver. Keep in mind that a cab ride can cost an average of 30 €. You also have the option of renting a car and have a little more freedom in your travels.

However, my advice is to do one of the excursions that I recommended in previous sections. They not only help you get to the beautiful Macau Beach, but also give you an extra experience.

On the other hand, the excursions are guided by professional people who know the area.
