Step by Step

SUMMIT One Vanderbilt is already one of New York's most amazing tours on its own, but the Ascent mode adds an extra feature designed for those who want an even more exciting experience. In addition to the usual tour of the observatory, this ticket incorporates an exterior glass lift that runs along the façade of the building and takes the visit to an even more impressive level.

The experience includes access to all three floors of SUMMIT, where the space combines observation decks, art installations and visual effects to create a visit unlike any other observatory in the city. One of the main attractions is Air, an immersive experience created to play with perception through mirrors, transparencies and reflections, transforming the environment into an almost unreal setting.

Also part of the tour is Reflect, an installation by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, and Levitation, one of the most talked-about areas of the observatory, where visitors stand on glass ledges suspended 1,063 feet above Madison Avenue. Added to all this are open views of the New York skyline, with some of its most iconic buildings within easy reach.

The distinguishing feature of this entrance is undoubtedly Ascent. This is an outdoor glass lift that ascends 12 floors up the side of the building to 1,210 feet, reaching the highest vantage point in Midtown Manhattan. The sensation of soaring outside the skyscraper makes this part of the visit a particularly impressive experience for those who enjoy heights and memorable plans.

All in all, this ticket is an excellent choice for those who want to enjoy SUMMIT One Vanderbilt at its most complete and exciting. An ideal visit to see the city from above, enjoy immersive art and experience one of New York's most impressive ascents.

I was very impressed by Levitation, even more than Ascent. Being on the glass gives a weird but fun feeling.

The visit was great, I would just recommend not to go in a hurry. Between photos, views and the lift, you should take it easy.

Very nice Reflect installation. I didn't expect to find something so artistic inside an observatory.
