Step by Step

A bike tour of the Golden Gate and Sausalito in San Francisco is a perfect opportunity to discover the city from a different perspective. You will cycle for approximately 3 hours to see the main districts of the city of San Francisco, cross the Golden Gate Bridge and finish in Sausalito.

An expert guide will accompany you throughout the tour and tell you the history of the different tourist spots you will pass by during the bike ride. The journey along the coast will allow you to see military forts, sea lions, dolphins and much more.

The terrain is flat and suitable for standard bicycles, but if you prefer, you can choose an electric bike (for a surcharge) at the time of the activity. The circuit of this bike tour will take you on a very comprehensive itinerary. In San Francisco:

  • Cycle around the city to get to know various neighbourhoods and districts.
  • Enjoy the iconic views of Ghirardelli Square, the Hyde Street waterfront and the Russian Hill neighbourhood.
  • Discover the former military fort Fort Mason
  • Stroll along some of San Francisco's many piers and Crissy Field, with its breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

There will be a couple of stops to take a break or go to the restroom. Feel free to talk to your tour guide if you need to make any more stops.

On the second leg of the tour, you'll take in the beautiful wetlands as you walk along the Golden Gate Promenade. You'll cross San Francisco's world-famous Red Bridge, an imposing bridge over 2 miles long. Once on the other side, the view of the city will be picture perfect.

The tour will end in the centre of Sausalito. There you can take the opportunity to visit the shops, art galleries, stroll through the picturesque streets or have a bite to eat.

Thereturn to San Francisco will be by ferry (ticket purchased separately on the day of the tour). You can also leave the bikes in Sausalito and continue the tour on your own. Please note that there will be a surcharge for leaving your bike in Sausalito and that the ferry only accepts standard bicycles (ebikes for a surcharge).

There is the option of hiring a private tour if you are looking for a more personal and exclusive experience or if you are travelling with a group.

The tour guide with information/history was great. A couple of difficult uphill rides, but always an option to walk to your bike.
