Step by Step
This tour of the island of Maui will take you on an unforgettable day, bringing you closer to Hawaiian history and customs along an iconic road. The Hana Highway, over 100km long along the coast, is known for its twists, turns and breathtaking bridges.
For added convenience, the adventure will start at your own accommodation with a hotel pick-up service . From there, you'll be on the road for the day, taking in Maui's most breathtaking and lesser-known sights:
- Dream beaches, such as Hookipa, known as the windsurfing capital, Wainapanapa, famous for its black sand.
- Spectacular waterfalls, such as Waikani (or "Three Bears Falls"), Mauka, where locals come to bathe, Wailua, the highest on the route (over 30 metres).
- Picturesque villages, such as Keanae, known for its black lava rocks and taro fields
- Laulima, an organic family farm in the Kipahulu Valley
- Ohe'o Gulch or the 7 Sacred Pools
If you travel at the right time of year, you may be able to spot sea turtles at Hookipa Beach. These turtles weigh around 90 kilos and bask in the sun on the sand. You can also get off the bus at Wainapanapa Beach and stroll along the edge of the bay and enjoy some free time to explore the area at your own pace.
Grab your swimming costume and take the opportunity to take a refreshing dip in the Mauka Waterfalls like a local. You should also take a change of clothes and towel to enjoy the rest of the tour in comfort.
The expert local guide who will accompany you on the tour will have prepared an itinerary so that you can make the most of the activity. However, as this is a small group tour of no more than 10 people, you will have flexibility. Feel free to discuss your preferences with your guide for a more exclusive and personal experience.
