More about: 64 Fun Things to Do in Dallas
Dallas has gone down in history as the scene of John F. Kennedy's assassination. It is still moving to follow the president's last steps and visit the places where the tragedy unfolded.
But Dallas is much more than that. Its museums, parks, bars, alternative neighborhoods, and shopping centers will make you enjoy a city that you will undoubtedly want to return to. Here's everything you can't miss.
1. See Dallas from a bird's eye view from Reunion Tower
At 171 meters high, Reunion Tower is one of Dallas' landmarks. Forget your fear of heights and climb to the top of this magnificent building. There you'll find the best views (and photo opportunities) of the city.
The top floor, the GeO-Deck observation deck, is a viewing platform with a covered area and an open-air area offering 360º views. You can also learn much more about the city thanks to its interactive exhibits. I recommend it as a starting point for exploring Dallas.
2. Follow in the footsteps of President Kennedy
On November 22, 1963, President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas. Visiting the scenes where this tragic event unfolded is like a real-life history lesson.
There are several key points: Dealey Plaza, where the president was shot; the building from which Lee Harvey Oswald fired; and the John F. Kennedy Memorial.
