To enter the museum you must pay for tickets, which you can buy at the ticket office, or order in advance online. The first thing you need to know about the price of tickets to the museum is that they usually have an approximate cost of 7 to 9 euros per person.

The price may vary according to different circumstances, one of them being the type of work and / or exhibitions you want to enter to see. In the case of tickets for the different shows of the cultural program, you should look for information about the price of the ticket through the website, where this information is constantly updated for the public.

The general ticket price usually allows access to the common areas of the museum, but sometimes the price may increase if you want to visit some temporary and special exhibitions that are offered within the museum at the time you have scheduled your visit.

At the box office the prices for general admission tickets are the same as I mentioned before, between 7 and 9 euros per person. What you have to keep in mind if you want to buy your tickets at the museum, is that the ticket office closes 30 minutes before the museum closes, so always try to arrive earlier so you can buy your tickets without problems.

Obviously it is a good idea to buy at the box office if you want to keep your ticket as a souvenir, to always remember your visit to this place. But in case you don't care much about this, you can buy your ticket through the website intended for this purpose.

If you want to buy online, you have to know that you can also buy tickets for the different music shows and art exhibitions that are constantly presented in the place. Once you arrive at the museum entrance, you can present your electronic or printed ticket.

Free tickets for children at the Picasso Museum

Children always get preferential treatment at most tourist attractions, and this is an advantage that I recommend you take advantage of whenever you travel with them. In the case of the Picasso Museum in Malaga, this rule also applies.

Children and young people up to 16 years old can enter without paying admission, so it is a great plus that you can not miss if you want to take children and teenagers to know a little of Picasso's art, his life and work.

In the case of children up to 13 years old, they need the company of an adult to tour the museum, older than this age can attend alone and still not pay the entrance to the place. It is important to know that these gratuities only apply to the entrance to the museum only, if you want to enjoy other experiences inside as temporary exhibitions or any temporary show, it is necessary to pay extra.

It is worth paying extra for the tickets to the temporary exhibitions because they are definitely part of the top 10 activities to do in Malaga because they teach you about the history, culture and art of the city and Picasso.

The Picasso Museum is a place that has multiple exhibitions and permanent collections, so you can visit the museum only for these exhibitions. To see only this part of the museum, you will have to pay the general admission only.

Also this museum, which is listed as one of the 10 best museums in Malaga, offers you the possibility to visit only the temporary exhibitions if you have already visited the place before and you want to see new things. In that case, you will also have to pay only the general admission or ask at the ticket office what is the price of each exhibition.

Sometimes the general admission price may include admission to other temporary exhibitions, but you can get this specific information at the ticket office when you visit the museum.

In case you do not get this type of combined tickets, you can always buy the traditional combined tickets which are usually priced at approximately 12 euros per person to see both permanent and temporary exhibitions.

Can you get into the Picasso Museum for free and is it worth it?

In fact, you can enter the Picasso Museum for free. There are already certain options that allow you to enter for free if you meet certain requirements such as being over 65 years old and other characteristics. But if you do not meet these characteristics, there is a way in which you can enter the museum for free.

Every Sunday you have the opportunity to enter the museum for free as long as you go during the last two hours of operation of the museum. However, if you want your visit to be enjoyable, I recommend you to arrive early and wait patiently until you are allowed to enter the place.

It is also possible to enter the museum for free during certain special days such as the day of Andalusia which is February 28th. Other dates when you can enter for free are Museum Day which is May 18, Tourism Day which is celebrated every September 27 and the anniversary day of the inauguration of the museum which is commemorated on October 27.

Now, if it comes to whether it is worth it or not, I have to tell you that it depends a lot on the day you choose to visit the museum. If you go on a holiday you may get more people than usual, because many tourists tend to visit the museum.

If you want to take advantage of the free admission every Sunday, what I recommend is to arrive on time and try to visit the museum in low season. In high season many tourists usually visit the place during the free day to reduce expenses.

Some people don't need to wait every Sunday or holiday to enter the museum for free. You can find free tickets for children. Also people with disabilities have the possibility to enter the museum for free, but in order to do so they need to present their ID card or any other documentation proving the disability they have.

In the event that people with disabilities need the constant attention and accompaniment of another person, they can also enter the facilities free of charge, as long as this is specified in writing.

Students of the University of Malaga who present their valid ID card can enter the museum facilities without paying, as well as teachers of the University of Malaga who present their accreditations.

People who are unemployed but registered in the SEPE also have the opportunity to enjoy the museum facilities free of charge, provided they present all the corresponding accreditations.

Reduced entrance fees are also available at the Picasso Museum, you just have to fulfill some conditions to enjoy them. If you are a tourist in the city and do not meet any of these conditions, you have to pay full admission.

Students in general who are up to 26 years old and who present their student card, have the opportunity to enter with a discount on the entrance fee. Also, people who have a valid Euro Youth Card and present it at the ticket office before entering have a discount.

People over 65 years of age also pay reduced admission, which usually costs around 5 to 7 euros, although to know exactly how much you will pay for the ticket, you have to go to the ticket office to be sure how much you will pay.

If you are going to buy reduced tickets, you have to know that they only work for the permanent exhibition spaces, but not for the temporary ones. In the latter case you would have to pay the additional entrance fee for these exhibitions at full price.

How much is the entrance fee if you want to include a guided tour of the Picasso Museum?

Guided tours of the museum are priced in addition to the general admission, you have two options to get a guided tour of the museum. One of them is the express guided tour which lasts about 30 minutes and you have the opportunity to request it at the ticket office as soon as you arrive.

This express tour is priced at approximately 25 euros provided that the tour is completed in Spanish. In case you want a tour in English or French, you will have to pay 30 euros per person. This guided tour includes a visit to all the permanent exhibitions.

On the other hand, you have the option of an extended visit that lasts up to 50 minutes, taking you calmly through each of the exhibitions that are presented within the museum' s facilities. This tour must be requested in advance.

The price of these tickets is usually 70 euros per person if the tour is conducted in Spanish. In case you want to request the tour in English or French, the amount to be paid can be approximately 75 euros.

Picasso Museum ticket prices are the same throughout the year. They are subject to change according to the type of exhibition presented and you can also enjoy price reductions if you meet some of the conditions for it. You can also get free tickets under the same conditions.

Prices do not change according to the season of the year, however, what may vary from one season to another is the availability of tickets to the museum and the number of tourists you get on your visit.

To avoid bad surprises regarding the number of tourists and to avoid the risk of running out of tickets, what I recommend is to always make online reservations well in advance, this way you will have the security of getting your tickets before and not be left without visiting the museum.

In case you want to go to a specific show, you can always enter the website where you can see the different shows scheduled with their dates, including those that will be presented in high season. Through this page you will be able to buy your tickets in advance even for these special events.

There are multiple ways in which you can save if you go to the Picasso Museum. One of them is definitely to visit this place during the times when admission is free. If you plan your visit for any Sunday during your trip to Malaga, then you can take advantage of the free admission.

If your trip does not coincide with Sunday, but you want to include this visit among the activities to do in Malaga with children, then remember to request the free admission for them. In case you want to save even more money, I recommend you to bring at least some water to drink before and after your visit to the museum. Although there is a café inside the museum, it might be useful not to buy water on site to save money.
