Step by Step

The I Love Rome sightseeing bus is a convenient way to get an initial overview of Rome and travel between some of its must-see attractions without having to organise each journey separately. You can complete the full circuit without getting off, or use the service as a means of transport between the different stops.

The tour usually starts in the Termini area and continues towards Santa Maria Maggiore and the Colosseum archaeological site. From there, it heads towards the Circus Maximus and the Mouth of Truth, before reaching Piazza Venezia, one of the city’s most central and monumental spots.

The route also includes a stop near Vatican City, from where you can visit St Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and Castel Sant’Angelo. Further on, the route passes through the area around the Spanish Steps and Piazza Barberini, a very convenient location for walking to the Trevi Fountain.

The 24-hour ticket is ideal for those who want to fit in the main sights in a single day. With the 48-hour ticket, you can spread your itinerary more evenly over two days, whilst the 72-hour option offers more flexibility to combine the bus with visits to Rome’s museums, monuments and neighbourhoods.

The ticket becomes valid from the moment you first use it. You can start your journey at any of the designated stops and, from that point onwards, get on and off as many times as you like during the 24, 48 or 72 hours corresponding to the option you’ve chosen.

I got on this bus and wow, Rome is even more beautiful from above. What I liked most was being able to get off at any stop and explore at my own pace.

I loved riding around Rome on this tourist bus, I was able to see all the important places in the city without getting tired. Also, the headphones that gave information in several languages were very useful.

The overall experience was pleasant, but I think the route could include more stops at lesser-known historical sites.
