Step by Step

This tour lasts around 5 and a half hours and departs from Avignon city centre. You will travel in an air-conditioned minivan and will be accompanied by an expert guide. During the tour, you will be able to admire the beautiful landscapes of Provence, with its lavender fields and characteristic villages. In particular, the tour includes a stop at the following places:

  • Roussillon - Beautiful Provençal village known for its ochre quarries. In the 18th century it experienced a great development thanks to the mining industry. Today, it is a beautiful commune with traditional houses in shades ranging from yellow to red. You will have enough time to stroll through the old town and along the red cliffs, where weather phenomena have created a fairytale landscape.
  • Gordes - One of the most beautiful villages in France. Perched on a hillside, it is best known for the castle, the Genty Pantaly square with its stone fountain and the Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs (Chapel of the White Penitents ). According to folklore, the latter was the seat of a secret brotherhood. This stage is somewhat shorter than the others.
  • La Fontaine de Vaucluse - A beautiful village shaped by the river Sorgue. Its passage through the town creates some very picturesque corners, with bridges and mills. The spring is a few minutes walk from the centre and along the path you can admire small waterfalls and cavities sculpted by the action of the water.

The tour does not include lunch, but in the places visited it will not be difficult to find a bar/restaurant specialising in the gastronomy of the region. To make the most of your visit, I recommend that you wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

The itinerary is as described, although the hospitality of the villages and the beauty of the lavender fields can only be captured by experience. Highly recommended
