This event is usually held in mid-September, when winter ends in Argentina. The streets are filled with festivities, joy and more than 1500 artists. Throughout the city there are dance performances, movies, concerts and much more.

Parallel to this celebration, the Tango World Cup is also held. Amateur and professional dancers from all over the world can register and compete. The categories of the competition are Tango de Pista and Tango Escenario.

If, besides watching it, you want to practice it, in Buenos Aires you can also attend a tango class. You don't need to know anything, you just need to be eager to feel this sensual dance and enjoy the moment.

If you travel to Buenos Aires during the month of June, you will have the opportunity to experience one of its national holidays. It is Flag Day, celebrated on June 20 every year. The Ministries of Culture, Defense and Education of the Nation usually join together to celebrate this day and provide activities for the public.

One of the favorite places to celebrate this occasion is the Kirchner Cultural Center. During the morning, children from public schools make a pledge to the flag inside this center. In the afternoon, the doors of the center open to the public to offer different activities.

You can stop by and enjoy concerts and guided tours in one of the best buildings in Buenos Aires. On each of its floors you will find activities focused on culture or art. In a fun and entertaining way you can learn a little about the history of this country. If you are interested in this activity, I recommend you check the schedule before you go.

3. Explore the graffiti in La Boca area

The best tours in Buenos Aires can be done during the winter. The days are sunny most of the time, so you can walk the streets in peace and quiet without getting overheated like in summer. This is why I recommend exploring the graffiti located in the area of La Boca.

Street art in the Argentine capital has a special place on many of its walls and facades. Graffiti artists and muralists have the opportunity to paint their works in the city and decorate the streets in a very original way. Most of them are located on Caminito Street and on Pérez Galdós and Almirante Brown Avenues.

With the help of Google Maps, you can walk these streets and avenues on your own at any time you want. However, I recommend hiring the services of a professional guide. This way, you can go directly to the most prominent murals and learn historical and curious facts about each of them.

A good way to get to know a city is to participate in its most traditional festivities. One of them is the Feast of San Antonio de Padua. This is held in the municipality of Merlo de Buenos Aires in the first fortnight of June during a weekend. Normally the date is confirmed by the municipality and admission is free.

This event takes place outdoors during the afternoons and evenings, so I recommend wearing warm clothes as temperatures can drop a lot. You can eat at the food trucks, buy handicrafts and enjoy the live music shows. Year after year they invite local bands to liven up the event.

In this event you will also have the opportunity to visit the Basilica San Antonio de Padua where a mass is held and family activities are usually organized in front of it. Normally all activities are organized by the Government of the Town of Merlo and the Universidad Nacional del Oeste.

One of the things you can do in Buenos Aires at night is to tour its Bares Notables on Avenida de Mayo. During the cold winter nights is the perfect time to have a hot drink and get to know these iconic places of the city. Thanks to their proximity, you can visit them all in the same night.

The Bares Notables are a date you can't miss in the Argentine capital. At the tables of these bars, outstanding artists, musicians, writers, painters and other great Argentinean figures have gathered for years. Because of their cultural value, these places have been named as historical heritage of the city.

As I mentioned before, the five bars are located on Avenida de Mayo. In total there are five bars: Bar El Federal, Café Margot, Bar de Cao, Celta Bar and Café la Poesía. Among the best things to do in Palermo in Buenos Aires during the winter is to visit the Tres de Febrero Park. You can enjoy a variety of experiences that give you the opportunity to connect with nature.

I recommend you to visit this park at the beginning of July, since this is the time when the pruning season begins. This process is done so that during the winter the rose bushes bloom healthy and strong. The neighbors take advantage of the occasion to approach and take the flowers and cuttings that can be planted in another area. You can also be part of this custom and take some flowers.

While touring the park, you can see its beautiful artificial lakes and take a boat or water bike ride. I also recommend you to visit the Plaza Holanda located inside the park. There you will find El Rosesal, a garden with numerous rose bushes that you can't miss.

Almost all winter months in Buenos Aires have a relatively high number of tourists, but not more than in the summer. July is the month with the highest number of visitors to the nearby beaches. However, some decide to make the most of the cold weather and go to ice rinks from June until the end of August.

Keep in mind that during these months children receive school vacations. For this reason you may find places a little more frequented than other months. Prices may be a little cheaper than during the summer, but there is not much difference.
