The first major stop is Rosslyn Chapel, a 15th-century gem famous for its mysterious stone carvings, its unique architecture and its popularity following its appearance in *The Da Vinci Code*. The route then continues to Melrose, where you’ll have time for lunch at your leisure and to admire its famous abbey, linked to the heart of Robert the Bruce.
