You'll start at the elegant Plaza San Martin, one of the city's most iconic squares, and then head into its streets full of colonial architecture. The tour includes a visit to the Gran Hotel Bolivar, famous for its illustrious characters and republican history, and we'll continue walking to the Plaza de Armas, the nerve centre of the city's political and religious power.
You will pass by places such as the Church of La Merced, the historic Hotel Maury, where the pisco sour originated, and the traditional Casa de la Literatura Peruana, a former train station converted into a cultural space. The guide will share fascinating anecdotes, such as the search for Francisco Pizarro's hat hidden in the square.
