Step by Step
This 4.5-hour excursion to the lagoon of Murano, Burano and Torcello from Venice is a perfect option to discover some of the most famous islands of the Venetian environment in a comfortable way and in just a few hours. Aboard a motorboat, you'll tour the northern part of the lagoon while a hostess on board shares information and trivia to help you better understand each stop.
The first stop is usually Murano, famous the world over for its glass craft tradition. Here you can stroll through its historic centre and attend a glassblowing demonstration in a traditional furnace, one of the most characteristic experiences of the tour. This demonstration is included, although entrance to the furnace is not compulsory.
The route continues to Torcello, a quiet island of great historical and archaeological value, considered one of the first settlements in the lagoon. You will have free time to admire some of its most famous sites, such as the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, the Church of Santa Fosca, the so-called Attila's throne or the Devil's Bridge, or simply relax in one of its bars.
The last stop is Burano, possibly the most photogenic island in the lagoon thanks to its famous coloured houses. Here you can stroll through the streets, browse the handmade lace shops or try the traditional bussolà, the island's typical sweets. You will then return to Venice, arriving in San Marco or Santa Lucia, depending on your point of departure.
