Budapest Half-Day Guided Tour

This half-day panoramic tour of Budapest is an excellent way to discover the Hungarian capital’s most important sights without having to organise each visit separately. On board an air-conditioned coach and accompanied by an expert guide, you’ll travel along the most iconic avenues and past the most iconic monuments of Pest and Buda whilst learning about their history and interesting facts.

The tour passes by the spectacular Budapest Parliament Building before crossing the Danube via Margaret Bridge into the Buda district. There, you’ll get off the bus for a short walk through the Castle District, amongst medieval ruins and historic streets, until you reach the Fishermen’s Bastion and admire the exterior of St Matthias Church.

The route continues towards Gellért Hill, where you’ll make a brief stop to take photographs and enjoy one of the most iconic panoramic views of the Danube and Budapest. You’ll then return to Pest via the Elizabeth Bridge and travel along the elegant Andrássy Avenue until you reach the monumental Heroes’ Square.

On the final stretch, you’ll pass such iconic buildings as the Hungarian State Opera House and St Stephen’s Basilica, before returning to the area around the InterContinental Hotel. In around three hours, you’ll have gained a comprehensive overview of Budapest – ideal both for a first visit and for deciding which places you’d like to explore in more detail later on.
