Step by Step
Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is one of those places where the visit revolves entirely around Australian wildlife. Here you can come face to face with some of the country’s most recognisable animals and learn more about how they live and the threats affecting their populations.
Koalas are the stars of the sanctuary, but they’re not the only ones. You’ll also find kangaroos, emus and other native species scattered throughout different areas of the grounds.
One of the most popular experiences is the chance to hand-feed kangaroos and emus, bringing you much closer to them than a conventional visit would allow.
Throughout the day, there are also shows featuring birds of prey and sheepdogs, as well as talks focusing on Australian wildlife, their habitats and the conservation challenges they face.
If you’d like to enhance the experience even further, the park offers additional activities such as koala encounters and photo opportunities, available at an extra cost.
Reviews

- YY.A simple and very enjoyable experience if you’re looking to get up close to some of Australia’s wildlife.
- XX.The children are still talking about the koalas, so it was clearly a success.
- WW.We happened to be there at a rather busy time, which detracted somewhat from the peace and quiet, although the visit was well worth it.
