Step by Step

Washington DC is brimming with history and for the curious, this ghost tour of Georgetown is the ideal experience. Tour this old neighbourhood of America's capital for approximately two hours and see interesting sites such as the Old Stone House. This activity will take place in a group of approximately 12 people.

With a professional guide, you'll tour this Potomac River district, which is filled with Victorian cottages and well-preserved gardens. It's a quiet, family-friendly environment where you'll find bars, restaurants and shopping. However, it's also full of tales of terror and legends that will make your blood run cold.

Georgetown was founded in 1751 and was the place that preceded the establishment of what is now Washington DC. Here you will find important educational institutions such as Georgetown University and severalembassies such as those of France, Sweden and Thailand.

Its history dates back to the mid-16th century, when the city emerged as a tobacco port where goods were traded by merchant ships. The pre-Revolutionary colonial and later Victorian origins have given rise to all sorts of events. For much of the tour your guide will tell you all sorts of tales of crime, supernatural apparitions, murders, deaths and ghosts.

Many of these stories have arisen from rumours and whispers from Georgetown's families and neighbours, which makes it all the more exciting. Special mention should be made of theOld Stone House, the oldest house in Georgetown. This colonial-era building retains the same structure in which it was built and is surrounded by terrifying but gripping events and legends that took place during the American Revolutionary War, a tragic and dark period in American history.

It was a quality visit. There were no delays at the sites or in the stories. And the group was small to facilitate conversation and stories. We had a great time. Highly recommended.

All the places we visited were very interesting and we learned a lot about an area that is really in our own backyard.
