10 Things to Do in St Louis at Christmas

St. Louis Lights | Kenny Nguyễn

If you are planning to visit San Luis for the holiday season, first I encourage you to take into account my recommendations of the best things to see and do in San Luis this season. Among the must-do activities in your itinerary, you have to include a visit to the city lights, you will definitely love them.

Other of the best activities you can see and do is to attend the Nutcracker performances and also leave time to visit magical places that work only at Christmas, such as Santa's Magic Kingdom and even if you have time to do it I recommend you to take a magical tour around the city.

1. Downtown light show

All the neighborhoods of Saint Louis become completely illuminated to celebrate Christmas. Especially in the downtown area you will see light shows everywhere you look. You can enjoy this light show both on the opening day and the rest of the nights when the lights are turned on.

The lights take over houses and buildings, in a scenario in which you can not only enjoy the decorations, but sometimes they usually offer a fireworks display during the lighting of the Christmas lights. It is a real ride especially for children, although if you go with your partner, this is the perfect romantic plan.

Some of the most eye-catching places to tour during Christmas are [Candy Cane Lanelink](https|url=https://www.yelp.com/biz/candy-cane-lane-saint-louis, el Condado de St. Charles, ){target="_blank" rel="noopener"}://www.overlandmo.org/::::, Glen Carbon or South St. Louis. The Missouri Botanical Garden 's exhibit each year features thousands of LED lights that illuminate the space as well as a large display of gardens from all over the world, fully illuminated. One of the most special things to do in St. Louis at Christmas is undoubtedly going to see performances of The Nutcracker. The Saint Louis Ballet does an excellent representation of Tchaikovsky's original work, so going to one of them is something you can't miss in the city at Christmas time.

It is a good show for young and old, not being so interesting for young children, so I recommend you to include it in your list if you are traveling with friends or with your partner.
