Step by Step

Seville Cathedral is impressive not only for its size but also for the wealth of history and art it houses. This ticket allows you to explore it at your own pace with the help of an audio guide that can be downloaded onto your mobile, ideal for stopping wherever takes your interest.

One of the most striking features is the High Altarpiece, a monumental piece of religious art that dominates the space with its wealth of detail. Nearby, the tour also takes you to the tomb of Christopher Columbus, one of the cathedral’s best-known features.

As you make your way through the cathedral, you’ll discover chapels, works of art and hidden corners that help you understand the building’s historical and religious significance. The audio guide accompanies you throughout the tour, providing context without the need to keep up with a group.

The experience continues at the Giralda, the former minaret converted into the cathedral’s bell tower. The ascent is mainly via ramps, a very distinctive feature of the tower.

Once at the top, your efforts will be rewarded: you’ll be able to take in a sweeping panoramic view of the centre of Seville, with the Cathedral at your feet and much of the historic centre stretching out around you.

I really enjoyed being able to see the altarpiece first and then go up the tower. They are two completely different experiences in a single visit.

The climb can be a bit tiring if you’ve already been walking around Seville all day. I’d make sure to save some energy for it.

The interior is very spacious and at times it was quite busy, but we never felt it was too crowded.
