Tangier Day Trip from Costa del Sol

This excursion to Tangier from the Costa del Sol is the perfect way to experience, in just one day, the leap from Europe to Africa. The tour starts with an air-conditioned coach pick-up from your selected point on the Costa del Sol (Estepona, Marbella, Malaga, Torremolinos or Fuengirola), from where you will head to Tarifa by road along the coast.

In Tarifa you'll board a fast ferry across the Strait of Gibraltar, a short but symbolic crossing: in just a few kilometres you'll change continent and culture. Upon arrival in Tangier, a local guide will be waiting for you, who will lead you on a panoramic bus tour of the most representative areas of the modern city and its surroundings, to give you an overview before taking you into the historical part.

On your return to the centre, you will start a walking tour of the Medina and the Kasbah, the ancient heart of Tangier. Accompanied by your guide, you will walk through narrow streets, squares and viewpoints, while discovering the traditional Moroccan architecture, the ramparts and the history of this port city that has been a crossroads of cultures for centuries. The explanation is multilingual (Spanish, English, French and German), so that you can comfortably follow the visit.

At midday, you will take a break to enjoy a typical Moroccan lunch included, where you can try classic dishes such as harira (traditional soup), beef kebabs and chicken or vegetable couscous, accompanied by Moorish tea and Moroccan sweets. This is the perfect opportunity to get a taste of local cuisine in an authentic setting.

After lunch, you will visit a bazaar with typical products, where you will find carpets, leather goods, handicrafts and local souvenirs. You will have time to browse, ask prices and, if you wish, make a purchase, with the help of your guide to guide you.

In the afternoon, you will return to the port to take the ferry back to Tarifa, and from there the coach back to your pick-up point on the Costa del Sol, closing an intense day in which you will have experienced another culture, other flavours and another continent without leaving your base in the south of Spain.
