Step by Step

World of Birds Wildlife Sanctuary & Monkey Park is home to over 400 species: parrots, eagles, penguins, meerkats, flamingos and hundreds of other animals. These day tickets give you access to Africa's largest bird sanctuary, which includes a centre for the care of endangered species.

Visitors can get up close to the animals and in some cases, as in the Monkey Jungle, even touch them. This is a space dedicated to squirrel monkeys, a species that grows up to 25/35 centimetres and is characterised by its speed and curiosity. They have a multicoloured coat: olive green, white, black and yellow-orange.

The park is beautiful in all seasons, but the best time to visit is between January and April, coinciding with the summer season. As for the best time of day, feeding time is interesting, starting at 11.30am and ending at 4.15pm.

World of Birds Wildlife Sanctuary & Monkey Park is located in the town of Hout Bay, at the foot of Table Mountain. It can be reached from Cape Town by car ( free parking is available), taxi and tour bus. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes.

The birds and all the animals in general are very well divided within the place. You can even walk into the monkey jungle and see them up close and everything. I would say it offers a unique experience with the wild animals, it was good to know.
