Step by Step

If you are looking for an experience to taste the best wines of Portugal, this is your chance. From Lisbon, you will spend a day in Arrábida and Sesimbra, about 40 kilometres from the Portuguese capital, to taste these famous nectars. On an excursion of about 8 hours and in groups of about 20 people, a local guide will accompany you to explain everything you need to know about the local wine.

On this tour you will visit a family-run wine farm in Quinta do Alcube to see first-hand how wine is made and then taste the nectar that comes out of the cellar. You'll taste at least four wines to leave your palate craving for more.

From Quinta do Alcube you will have the opportunity to see the fantastic natural park of Arrábida, as well as visit the exterior of the Pamela Castle, to take some memorable photos.

The other two remaining wine tastings will take place at Casa Museu Jose Maria da Fonseca, one of the oldest wineries in Portugal and the first to be certified sustainable in the country. From there you can visit the fishing village of Sesimbra, one of the locals' favourite spots.

Here you'll be close enough to visit the Cristo Rey sanctuary, inspired by Rio de Janeiro's Christ the Redeemer, to take a few snapshots and marvel at the views across Lisbon before returning to the city.

I didn't know there was a Christ the King in Portugal. One of my favorite countries is Brazil and it is very interesting to know the similarities and differences of both cultures. Also, the guide's accompaniment and knowledge made the experience even better.
