Step by Step

A visit to the Amsterdam Jewish Museum is an interesting and enriching experience. It is housed in four giant synagogues, located in the centre of Waterlooplein, the city's old Jewish quarter. A tour of the museum will allow you to learn about the history of the community and the religious and cultural value of its traditions, as well as the struggle they waged for years in the face of Nazi persecution.

With your ticket to the museum, you can also use an audio guide and you will have access to visit the Portuguese Synagogue and the National Holocaust Memorial.

Through historical elements, personal testimonies, 3D presentations, paintings and photographs, you will gain an insight into Jewish culture. You will get a complete insight into the tragic moments of their history and how they still struggle today to keep this memory alive by celebrating their traditions.

If you come with children, they can visit the Junior Jewish Museum, together with Max the Matzo, a fun guide. In this way, the little ones can experience their own tour, while the adults visit the exhibitions at their leisure.
