Step by Step
This experience will take you on a walking tour of the famous Latin Quarter of Paris, located in the fifth arrondissement of the capital, renowned for its nightlife and wide variety of theatres, cinemas, restaurants, cafes and terraces, ideal for having a pleasant and different time.
You will stroll for about two hours through its picturesque squares and streets that contain an important part of Parisian history, which you can learn about from a professional local guide.
This area, a university area par excellence, owes its name to the students who lived there in the Middle Ages, when Latin was the predominant language.
You will have the opportunity to visit its most emblematic places, among which the following stand out:
- Sorbonne University: the extinct University of Paris, known as the Sorbonne, is one of the oldest in Europe.
- Cluny Museum: has a priceless collection of medieval art, displayed inside a stunning Gothic palace.
- Panthéon de Paris: in its crypt lie the remains of famous French historical figures such as Victor Hugo and Voltaire.
- Church of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont: founded in 1494, the complex construction of its façade is a real architectural jewel to behold.
- Luxembourg Gardens: these gardens are a favourite place to relax, lie on the lawns and chat after touring the city.
You will also visit the popular Shakespeare and Company bookshop, a historical place that, if you are a literature lover, you will want to visit when passing through the fifth arrondissement of Paris.
