Step by Step

Discover the Hotel de la Marine in Paris with these tickets to one of the most emblematic buildings in the French capital. If you want to know all the details and history of this building and what it shows inside, you will have an audio guide at your disposal.

The king's chief architect, Ange-Jacques Gabriel, was in charge of designing this building. In 1765, it was decided to house the Garde-Meuble de la Couronne, the institution in charge of the king's furniture, in the eastern palace, the future Hotel de la Marine.

The institution was in charge of choosing, buying and maintaining the king's furniture, from beds to chairs for everyday use. It also conserved the royal collections of arms, armour, fabrics, tapestries, hard stone vases, bronze works and Crown diamonds. This heritage is still preserved and can be seen in the majestic halls of the hotel.

It then became the Ministry of the Navy for 200 years until 2015. After that, a restoration project was undertaken which created this wonderful hotel, open since 2021.
