Experience Highlights

Take a day trip from Paris and discover Bruges, one of Belgium’s best-preserved medieval cities. You’ll travel by air-conditioned coach to its historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where canals, Flemish houses, monumental squares and charming streets await you.

When booking, you can choose how you’d like to explore the city: on your own, with an audio guide or accompanied by a guide. All three options include return transport from Paris and time to explore Bruges, have lunch at your leisure, visit shops or sample specialities such as Belgian chocolates and waffles.

The excursion lasts approximately 14 hours, departing in the morning from the Pullman Bercy Hotel. During your stay in Bruges, you’ll be able to visit places such as the Grand-Place, the Belfry, the Beguinage and the Town Hall, tailoring the experience to the type of tour you’ve selected.

  • Choose between a self-guided tour, an audio-guided tour or a guided tour

Step by Step

The day begins early in Paris, from where you’ll set off by air-conditioned coach to Belgium. After the journey, you’ll arrive in Bruges at around 11.00, with several hours to explore a city characterised by its Gothic architecture, its canals and its distinctive Flemish façades.

The highlight of the tour is the historic centre. Among the sights you’ll be able to visit are the Grand-Place, the Market Square dominated by the famous Bruges Belfry, the Church of Our Lady, the Beguinage and the Town Hall. You’ll also have time to stroll along the canals, visit museums at your own pace or pop into local chocolate shops and boutiques.

If you choose the self-guided option, you’ll have complete freedom during your stay in the city. It’s the most flexible option for those who prefer to decide what to visit and how much time to spend at each place. If you select the audio-guide option, you’ll retain that freedom but will also have access to explanatory commentary via a mobile app that will guide you throughout the tour.

The guided option is designed for those who want to learn more about the history of Bruges in the company of a professional guide. You’ll take a walk of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes through the medieval centre, followed by some free time. Furthermore, from April to October, a canal cruise is included – a different way to admire the Flemish houses and the cityscape from the water.

  • Self-guided tour: includes return transport between Paris and Bruges. Once there, you’ll have approximately 5 hours to explore the city entirely at your own pace, without a guided tour or audio guide.
  • Self-guided tour: as well as transport, you’ll have access to audio commentary via a mobile app, allowing you to explore the historic centre whilst following the commentary on your own device.
  • Guided tour: includes a walking tour of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes with a tour guide through the historic centre. Between April and October, this option also includes a short canal cruise.

Departure from Bruges is scheduled for approximately 16:30, with arrival in Paris around 21:00. In total, the experience lasts around 14 hours, combining travel time with around 5 hours to enjoy Bruges.
