Step by Step

In this food and wine tasting you will immerse yourself in French culture and taste some of the best cheeses and wines of the Rhône Valley. During this activity, which lasts around 8 hours and is suitable for small groups, you will explore a farm and a wine estate in this region known for its wine production and exquisite gastronomic offer. You will travel in a comfortable minivan.

You will travel through the Parc Naturel du Pilat, more than 70,000 hectares covered with spruce forests, pastures, vineyards and apple trees. The landscape is dominated by the Crêt de la Perdrix, a mountain of 1,430 metres.

The visit includes a stop at a local farm where an exceptional goat's cheese, Rigotte de Condrieu, is made. It is an ancient cheese, thought to have originated in Roman times. Its rind encloses a melting, slightly salty heart, with aromas of hazelnut and acacia honey. The little ones (but not only them) find it very amusing to meet the goats, which are extroverted in nature and used to human contact.

Afterwards, you will reach a farm surrounded by vineyards where you will have the opportunity to taste some of the local wines. Crops stretch along both sides of the river and have given rise to some of the most prestigious appellations in the world. The Rhône Valley is best known for its reds - produced mainly from Syrah grapes - which are distinguished by their intense black pepper aroma. Among the most famous varieties are Côte-rôtie and Condrieu .

The hike is perfect for nature lovers but does not require excessive physical exertion. I recommend that you wear comfortable clothes and shoes and, in summer, a hat and sunscreen. Children are welcome to attend but will not be able to participate in the wine tasting.
