To travel from Paris to Disneyland, you will find several transport options, some more convenient than others depending on your particular situation: Disney excursions, private transfers, public transport, taxis, and you can even buy your Disneyland ticket with an express bus service. We explore everything here!

Disneyland is located approximately 40 kilometres from the centre of Paris. And precisely because of its proximity, it is one of the favourite excursions for both Parisians and locals.

It's a very convenient option that includes pick-up from your hotel or the airport. What's more, the vehicle will be fully equipped and you'll have a professional driver at your disposal. Please note that tickets to Disneyland Paris are not included.

Another option is to purchase your Disneyland ticket with express bus service. Highly recommended for those travelling to Paris with children because they can meet other fellow adventurers. Among the amenities included, you will have your ticket to the amusement park with direct access and no queues.

In general, the buses are comfortable, spacious and well equipped. These excursions depart daily from the capital to Disneyland, and it is very easy to find several different companies to choose from. They usually offer several meeting points in Paris.

  • Price: this excursion is available from €114, including admission to Disneyland.
  • Recommended if... You are enjoying a fun holiday in Paris, are looking for a one- or two-day trip to Disneyland, and don't want to organise too many details, but simply want to sit back and enjoy the adventure.

The cheapest option for getting to Disneyland: the RER A urban train from Paris

My second favourite option among the transport alternatives to get to Disneyland Paris is to take the RER A urban train. Paris' urban transport is one of the best in the world, so you can be sure of a punctual and hassle-free journey.

For accurate timetable information, visit the official website. The last train back to Paris from Disneyland leaves around midnight, so if you go in summer, when Disneyland is open until 1 a.m., you may miss your transport.

Urban trains run throughout the day at approximately 15-minute intervals. From central Paris, you can take the RER A from five different stations:

  • Charles de Gaulle Etoile: located at the Arc de Triomphe.
  • Auber: located near the Galeries Lafayette.
  • Chatelet Les Halles: in the 1st arrondissement of Paris.
  • Gare de Lyon: rated as the largest train station in Paris and located in the 12th arrondissement
  • Nation metro station: located opposite Place Nation, in the 11th arrondissement.

The return trip to Paris is usually a lot of fun. As it is a widely used and economical method of transport, it is full of tourists and locals wearing colourful Mickey Mouse ears, and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

  • Price: a one-way ticket from central Paris to Disneyland costs at least €7.60.
  • Duration: the RER A train travels at high speed, but the journey, including stops, usually takes between 40 and 45 minutes.
  • Recommended if... you are looking for the most economical option. Also if you are travelling to Disneyland for several days, 4 or 5, and are looking for an alternative that will save you money.

The most convenient option for getting to Disneyland: hire a car

To get to Disneyland by car from Paris, take the A4 motorway and then exit 14, Parques Disney and Bailly-Romainvilliers. Although it requires more organisation, renting a car or using your own vehicle to get to Disneyland is a viable alternative that hundreds of people use frequently.

If you are travelling to Paris with your own vehicle, you are already halfway there, but if you are interested in renting some form of transport, the French capital offers hundreds of alternatives, most of which you can quote and book entirely online. Here are a few alternatives:

The biggest drawback is the additional costs you will need to factor into your budget, such as fuel and parking fees at Disneyland, which are around €25 for motorcycles, €30 for small cars and €45 for caravans. However, if you have a Magic Pass, it is free. I do not recommend this if you are going to the park for several days in a row, as it will not be economical.

  • Price: from €10 per day, however, this price will increase depending on the type of vehicle you choose and the rental company. Also consider parking and fuel costs.
  • Journey time: this is the fastest option available. From central Paris, it will only take you about 30 minutes to reach the complex by car.
  • Recommended if... you want total flexibility to arrive and leave at the time you prefer. It is also an alternative if you want to stay in Disney Village after the parks close.

The least convenient option: taking a taxi to Disneyland from Paris

If you want to travel to Disneyland in comfortable and safe transport, but don't want to drive and plan a route, or share transport with other people, a taxi is an option. In the French capital, it is very easy to find taxi companies that offer first-class service, with very friendly staff and drivers who can communicate with you efficiently in English.

Below is a list of Parisian taxi companies for your reference:

The main advantage of this option is that you can request to be picked up directly at your hotel and schedule a second return trip when you come back. The companies have a virtual platform that allows you to request the service conveniently. However, from my perspective, the biggest drawback is the cost. Additionally, don't forget that companies like UBER work perfectly.

  • Price: although it will depend greatly on the company you hire, you will pay an average of €100 per trip.
  • Journey time: as this is a car journey with no stops, you can make the trip in just 30 minutes.
  • Recommended if... you cannot or do not want to drive in Paris or do not want to share transport with other people.
