Step by Step
Join this roughly 3-hour tour of the Portuguese capital and discover one of the world’s most vibrant street art scenes. Lisbon has long been a favourite destination for many Portuguese and international artists to bring their canvases to life. On this small-group walking tour of around 10 people, discover the capital’s murals and buildings, transformed into a gallery of urban art.
Led by a local guide, you’ll explore the main hotspots and meet the street artists who have left their mark on many corners of Lisbon. You’ll admire the urban art of artists such as Vhils and Bordallo II. Near Cais do Sodré railway station, you’ll immediately spot some of the finest works by these Portuguese artists.
You’ll pass through many of Lisbon’s historic streets and neighbourhoods, such as Bairro Alto, Calçada da Glória, Mouraria and the Graça neighbourhood. These are brimming with colourful works of art that explore themes from Portuguese history, fado music, political tension and the fantastical. You’ll uncover a new layer of Lisbon’s history at every turn.
In Lisbon, art is everywhere. You’ll visit Chão do Loureiro, a car park transformed into a street art gallery. This five-storey building showcases some of the most prominent street artists from Lisbon’s south bank.
