Discover Barcelona through its flavours with this 3-hour gastronomic tour of the old town. Accompanied by a local guide specialising in gastronomy, if you choose the morning slot you’ll start with a visit to La Boqueria Market. If, on the other hand , you take the afternoon tour, you’ll head straight to some of the most atmospheric spots in the Gothic Quarter and El Born

Throughout the experience, you’ll visit four iconic establishments, where you’ll sample tapas, Iberian cured meats, cheeses and other local produce , accompanied by regional wines, cava and vermouth. Rather than a series of tastings, the tour is designed as a full meal spread across the various stops.

The group is small, with a maximum of 12 participants, allowing you to enjoy a more intimate experience and chat with the guide about Barcelona’s culinary history, its traditions and the produce that forms part of the local cuisine.

The experience begins right in the heart of Barcelona, next to La Rambla, taking you first into La Boqueria Market (morning tour only). There you’ll discover one of the city’s great gastronomic landmarks and learn more about its history, its produce and the role that markets continue to play in local culture.

Then it’s time to start tasting. At the first stop, you’ll sample a selection of Iberian cured meats and cheeses, accompanied by two red wines, whilst the guide explains the origin and characteristics of the products.

The tour continues on foot through Barcelona’s old town, linking the Gothic Quarter and El Born with stops at other local wine bars and restaurants. At each one, you’ll find a different combination of tapas and drinks, allowing you to discover traditional flavours at your own pace.

Throughout the four gastronomic stops, you’ll sample different dishes and products paired with wine, cava or vermouth. Between tastings, the guide will share stories about the neighbourhood and the traditions that make going out for tapas such an important part of Barcelona’s social life.

The experience ends in the old town, after you’ve explored several of its liveliest streets and enjoyed a full meal as part of the tour. What’s more, the guide can give you recommendations to help you continue discovering restaurants and bars for the rest of your stay.
