The route begins at Plaza Bib-Rambla and takes in sites such as Plaza de las Pasiegas, the Cathedral, the Church of El Sagrario, the Alcaicería, the Madraza Palace, Plaza Nueva and other spots linked to the transition from Nasrid to Christian Granada.

One of the key stops is the Royal Chapel, where the tombs of the Catholic Monarchs are located. The tour includes a visit inside the chapel, although admission to the monument must be paid for separately on the day.

Step by Step

Granada underwent one of the greatest changes in its history at the end of the 15th century. The arrival of the Catholic Monarchs did not merely bring about a political change: it also transformed the city’s image, its religious sites and much of its urban layout.

During the tour, you’ll pass through Plaza Bib-Rambla and Plaza de las Pasiegas before reaching the cathedral complex. There, you’ll discover how the new monarchy gradually left its mark on a city still shaped by centuries of Al-Andalus heritage.

The route continues through sites such as the Church of El Sagrario, the Alcaicería and the Madraza Palace, where the coexistence of different historical layers is particularly evident: ancient Islamic Granada, the new Christian buildings and the changes brought about following the conquest.

Another of the tour’s highlights is the Royal Chapel, designed as a mausoleum for Isabella and Ferdinand. The tour takes you inside, but admission is not included and must be purchased separately. There, you’ll be able to see one of the key elements of the monarchs’ dynastic legacy in Granada.
