Step by Step

The tour starts with a central meeting point in Krakow, near the Schindler Factory, where your guide will introduce you to the pre-ghetto context: Jewish life in Kazimierz, the forced transfer to the Podgórze ghetto, and the implementation of the ghetto under Nazi laws. Through alleys and squares, fragments of the original ghetto wall are preserved, which will serve as a physical reminder of what you experienced.

You will proceed to the Pod Orłem Pharmacy, which operated inside the ghetto and became a symbol of help and resistance. Here, you will hear about human stories of solidarity, hiding and survival. Then you will head to the Ghetto Heroes' Square (Monument of the Chairs), a memorial to the thousands of Jews deported from these very streets.

The tram ride to Płaszów adds a significant dimension to the tour: upon arrival at the former camp, you will see the official memorials, the geographical space where the barracks once stood, and visible parts of the concentration camp. Although many of the original structures no longer exist, the atmosphere, the memorial plaques, the guide's testimonies and the open spaces allow you to imagine the extent of the suffering and resistance.

This tour is educational, emotional and profound. It is advisable to wear comfortable clothes, sturdy shoes and bring water. It takes place outdoors, so be prepared for walking and moments of reflection.
