It was a wonderful trip. I liked the tour and the views were definitely were amazing. The only thing I did not like was the food. The sandwiches were not that great. Mai was an amazing tour guide and I really liked her. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and was very passionate about her job.

This was a fantastic day trip. There were just three of us on the tour (excluding our excellent guide Constanza and convivial driver Manuel) so it was nice and personal, and the guides easily adapted to our personalities, preferences and style. My goal had been to get into the Central Chilean Andes m The chance to walk around in quiet solitude in the El Yeso wilderness was amazing, and not something I'd have had the opportunity to do without this tour. I was pleased to see a viscacha and several condors - and nobody can turn down a bit of wine, cheese, and empanadas! Originally I had hoped to do the San Jose Volcano trip, but it turned out that this couldn't be offered on my preferred day due to insufficient numbers. I wasn't disappointed with El Yeso as a substitute. From what I heard from my companions who had been to San Jose, this is the better of the two tours. I would caution that if you are set on a particular tour, you may need to think again given the minimum numbers requirements for tours (granted, it's not the only company that operates on minimum numbers). In my case this worked out well. I also felt a bit sorry for the guides: although the company communicated promptly and professionally to me, it did not seem to pass details onto the guides. All things considered this was a great day out. Special thanks to Constanza and Manuel for their attention and real interest shown towards all of us.

There are several similar tours on offer to Embalse El Yeso. Some friends had done one of the other ones (red buses) and then came with us on this one. This is much better...toured much more of the lake with much more commentary and looked after better. The tour itself was great. We had Sebastian and Phillipe. Both great guys, knowledgeable, friendly and easy to talk to and happy to answer questions in English and Spanish.
