Step by Step

You’d be hard-pressed to find vistas as stunning as these. At the western end of the Gorge, the view from Crown Point is a front-row seat to the mighty Columbia as its unfurls and cuts through the Cascade mountains. From there dozens of awe-inspiring waterfalls spill from basalt cliffs, lining the Historic Columbia River Highway, like the famous Multnomah, Bridal Veil and Latourell falls. The landscape seems to grow bigger, grander and brighter as it rolls east.
The view is absolutely breathtaking and it's one of the best spots to soak in a view of one of the most beautiful places on earth: the magnificent, awesome Columbia River Gorge.
The 242-foot falls is a tiered type of waterfall, named after the Yakama word for "most beautiful". While not as tall as nearby Multnomah, it is no less lovely. We will stop here as parking and timing allows.
The Vista House was built in 1917 on one of the most beautiful scenic points on the Historic Columbia River Highway. It was constructed to provide travelers a place to rest and refresh themselves as they made their way down the magnificent Columbia River Gorge.
Latourell Falls is a gorgeous waterfall that has the distinction of being the closest major waterfall of the Columbia River Gorge to the City of Portland. It possesses remarkable overhanging columnar basalt cliffs that allowes Latourell Creek to do a 249ft free-falling plunge with no contact with most of the underlying cliff, making it in one of the more unique such waterfalls in the gorge.
A waterfall as magnificent and memorable as any in the country is located just a 30- minute drive outside of Portland. Visiting Multnomah Falls, a 611-foot-tall roaring, awe-inspiring cascade of icy water, lets you experience the power and beauty of nature up close and with ease.
Named for its characteristic form, Horsetail Falls plunges 176 feet within view of the Historic Columbia River Highway's "Waterfall Corridor".

The tour was amazing! Picked us up and dropped us off right outside of our hotel. Phil was very informative, kind, and had a great sense of humor. He also took time to take everyone’s pictures at each stop. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to tour the gorge!

What a great experience. Driving in the old Scenic Hwy, we saw multiple water falls both in and out of the van. There were lots of stops to walk up close to the falls and take pictures. The trip operator (Gunner) was knowledgeable about the area and had lots of corny dad jokes to make us smile. I highly recommend!
