In the mid-1980s, basketball fans in Florida dreamt of securing a franchise in the ‘Sunshine State’. In 1989, just one year after the Miami Heat’s debut, the Orlando Magic made their first appearance in the NBA. The team’s name is a clear nod to the city’s theme parks.

In the 2026–27 season, the Orlando Magic face the challenge of taking the next step after finishing the previous campaign with a 45–37 record, qualifying for the play-offs as the eighth seed in the East and going the distance to Game 7 in their series against Detroit. With a young, developing squad led by Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, the aim now will be to establish themselves amongst the conference’s most competitive teams.

The Kia Centre, with a capacity of 18,500, will once again be buzzing with excitement as some of the NBA’s biggest rivals take to the court, in an atmosphere that cements its status as one of the league’s liveliest venues.

The answer is simple: you can get NBA tickets on the Hellotickets website. This site lets you buy them before you set off, with the assurance that you’ll receive official tickets. Thanks to the detailed map (and the other tips in this article), it won’t be hard to find the ticket that best suits your needs.

If you don’t want to book in advance, the Kia Centre box office opens three hours before the match. In my opinion, it’s not worth queuing. Especially when you’re on holiday – time is money.

Generally speaking, always try to buy your tickets in advance. If you avoid the most popular teams – such as the Miami Heat and the Atlanta Hawks – you’ll find some real bargains.

The Kia Centre is known for its good visibility. Sitting in the upper tiers doesn’t detract from the experience. That said, you should bear in mind that the bottom 10 rows of the upper tier are usually the cheapest. If the opposition isn’t particularly well-known, you can find tickets for around €10.

What are the best seats?

The designers of the Kia Centre have placed particular emphasis on visibility. It’s hard to find a bad seat inside the arena, yet some seats stand out for the quality of their views. For example, sections 113 to 116 and 104 to 107. If you want to be even closer to the players, then you can opt for sections 207 to 211 and 223 to 227.

If you fancy treating yourself, I’d recommend checking the prices for premium seats. After all, you’re not in Orlando every day. In this case, I’d recommend the following areas:

  • Presidents Suite, a private suite on the Club Level. It features leather seats and has a maximum capacity of 24 people
  • Founders Suites, another private area 19 rows from the court. This area can also accommodate a maximum of 24 people
  • Walt Disney World Terrace, which is divided into two levels and includes a private bar on the upper level. It can accommodate up to 40 people
  • All-Star Decks, with high tables and seating along the railing. Highly recommended

In the world’s most famous basketball competition, playing time is slightly longer than in Europe. Whilst in Spain a match lasts 40 minutes (four 10-minute quarters), in the US it lasts 48 minutes (12 minutes per quarter). If a match ends in a draw, there is a 5-minute overtime period.

When to watch an NBA match in Orlando? (2026–27 season)

Orlando’s fans will continue to create one of the most electric atmospheres in the East during the 2026–27 season, particularly after the Magic finished the previous campaign with a 45–37 record, reached the play-offs and took their series against Detroit to a seventh game. With Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner as key figures, the Kia Centre will once again host particularly exciting nights against some of the conference’s most competitive and high-profile rivals.

Among the most interesting fixtures will once again be the clashes against the Miami Heat, due to their geographical proximity and the fact that they are a state derby, as well as matches against teams such as the Boston Celtics and the Detroit Pistons, which carry added tension given their recent competitive form. There will also be keen interest in the fixtures against the Atlanta Hawks, another direct rival in the battle to secure a place in the upper or upper-middle echelons of the Eastern Conference.

In the NBA, the policy on children’s tickets varies from team to team. In the case of the Orlando Magic, children under 36 inches (approximately 91 centimetres) do not need to buy a ticket. However, they must sit on a parent’s lap. If your child is a bit older, you’ll have to pay the full ticket price.

Yes, the NBA doesn’t take a break at this time of year, and the 2026–2027 season will also feature matches right in the middle of December. The proximity to the festive holidays boosts public interest, and the atmosphere in the stands at the Amway Centre becomes even more special. If you want to experience it first-hand, all you need to do is get your tickets.

Throughout the franchise’s history, Christmas games have produced some memorable moments. One of the most memorable was in 1995, when the Orlando Magic beat the Houston Rockets with a last-minute basket, sealing a 92–90 victory.

Now that you know all about seats and prices, there are just a few small details left to sort out. Below you’ll find some useful information.

Where to eat

There’s no shortage of dining options inside the Amway Centre. The arena is home to Orlando Table and Orlando Market, two restaurants that prioritise locally sourced ingredients. For a more exclusive experience, you can dine at Jernigan’s, which, as well as serving great food, offers stunning views of the court.

If you’re looking to save a bit of money, you can eat near the Kia Centre. The following establishments are within walking distance of the arena:

  • Hamburger Mary’s, if you fancy a proper meat-lover’s burger. The menu also includes salads, tacos, starters and wraps. If you like it, you can also pop back for brunch (110 W Church Street)
  • Bosphorous, a restaurant specialising in Turkish cuisine. Regulars return for the lamb shank and the sautéed prawns (7600 Dr Phillips Boulevard Ste 108)
  • HÄOS on Church, a restaurant with an incredibly varied menu. It also offers vegetarian options (123 W Church Street)
  • Super Rico, for enjoying Colombian street food. Ideal if you fancy sharing a platter, a plate of salchipapas or some tasty arepas (57 W Central Boulevard)
  • Big Storm Brewing, a brewery with a good food menu. Perfect if you fancy a nice cold pint before or after the match

Where to park

The official Orlando Magic car park is the GEICO car park, located at 400 West South Street. You can pay for parking directly at the Kia Centre ticket office. Please note that you must settle this payment before 17:00. Alternatively, you can choose from the following options:

When should you head to the stadium?

As a general rule, don’t leave it until the last minute. The NBA is a hugely popular league, so it’s best to arrive at the stadium well in advance. The Amway Centre is situated near a motorway that tends to be quite busy on match days. What’s more, if you arrive early, you can make the most of it by having a meal at one of the restaurants mentioned in the previous point.

Wi-Fi

Yes, Wi-Fi is available inside the Kia Centre. If you want to retrieve your e-ticket and don’t want to wait until the last minute, I recommend doing so at your hotel or holiday let. Alternatively, most of the bars and restaurants mentioned above have Wi-Fi.
