The flight begins at the Downtown Manhattan Heliport, next to the East River. As soon as you take off, the city begins to unfold beneath your feet and the first views of New York Harbour come into view, with the Lower Manhattan skyline rising in the background.

One of the first real highlights comes as you approach the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. From the air, you can appreciate much better their location within the harbour and the relationship between the islands, Manhattan and the mouth of the Hudson.

The tour then heads towards Lower Manhattan, where you’ll be able to make out One World Trade Centre, the 9/11 Memorial, Battery Park and the Financial District. From this vantage point, the cluster of skyscrapers at the southern tip of the island is particularly impressive.

As you head towards Midtown, some of the world’s most recognisable buildings come into view: the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. You’ll also be able to spot Times Square and then follow the Manhattan skyline until the huge green rectangle of Central Park comes into view.

The route also includes views of the USS Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, moored alongside the Hudson. In just a few minutes, you’ll have gone from the great landmarks of the harbour to the skyscrapers of Midtown and one of the world’s most famous urban parks, all from a completely different perspective.
