A cathedral has stood on this site since the year 604 and the current Cathedral is now the fourth to have been built here after the 1666 Great Fire of London destroyed its predecessor. St Paul's is England's place of national celebration and has hosted Royal Weddings such as that of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981 and Diamond Jubilee celebrations for both Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II. St Paul's Cathedral is famous for its iconic Dome which you can climb up to three circular viewing points.

With so much to discover about the history, architecture and role of a national Cathedral you'll appreciate the excellent multimedia guides included with your admission. Available in nine languages in adult and engaging family formats. Or register on arrival to join guided tours and welcome talks led by Cathedral guides.

Warm and welcoming. Not cheap but concessions. We were offered a tour but choice to take ourselves. Recommend you take the tour. The guides were situated everywhere to ask questions. We climbed the tower and the views were spectacular. Well worth the 500 plus stairs.

Absolutely beautiful cathedral, lots of people but as its so big inside it wasn’t overly crowded and the further you went up the less people there were. The climb up the the whispering is a bit of a slog but totally worth it. The climb to the stone tower is more of a slog but again worth it although I would say if you are on the large size then it could be difficult as the stairwell and corridors are very very narrow. The climb up to the gold tower is very hard going and not for the faint hearted, not sure I would attempt that bit again as it is quite scary if you are not good with heights but the view across London is amazing.
