Step by Step
This day trip takes you from Granada to Seville, the capital of Andalusia. The excursion lasts approximately 12 hours and includes return transport to your hotel in an air-conditioned coach. As an added bonus, it includes commentary from a local guide and admission to the attractions listed below. Please note that the order may vary.
- Seville Cathedral and the Giralda Tower – It is the third-largest church in the world and was built between the 15th and 16th centuries, during the city’s golden age. It is a splendid example of Gothic/Renaissance architecture, and within it lies one of the most important figures in the history of the Spanish crown: Christopher Columbus.
The cathedral follows the layout of a former mosque, and its Muslim past can be seen in the nearby bell tower, known as La Giralda. It rises to a height of over 100 metres and is crowned by a bronze sculpture representing the Christian faith. Originally, La Giralda was a minaret inspired by that of the Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakesh
- Real Alcázar of Seville – This monumental complex is situated opposite the Cathedral, right in the heart of the historic centre. Its origins date back to the year 913 and, century after century, this Muslim fortress has been transformed into an elegant Mudejar-style palace. It is renowned for the Puerta del León – the main entrance – its inviting courtyards and the surrounding gardens, where water is the undisputed star
- Plaza de España – This extraordinarily beautiful square was built for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition. It is semi-circular in shape and flanked by a canal spanned by four bridges representing the country’s ancient kingdoms: Castile, León, Aragon and Navarre. Another distinctive feature is the tiles depicting the Spanish provinces
