More about: Granada Alhambra Palace Ticket Price

Many travellers dream of visiting Granada to see its legendary Alhambra, whose beauty has inspired people from all over the world for centuries. It is therefore a very popular monument and the most visited in Spain. But how much do tickets cost and what can you see for free?

Don't worry, I'll tell you everything you need to know about Alhambra ticket prices below.

How much does a skip-the-line ticket to the Alhambra cost?

The price of tickets to the Alhambra (which include access to the Nasrid Palaces, the Palace of Charles V and the Alhambra Museum) is around £27.

However, buying tickets at the ticket office is not the best idea. My advice is to buy tickets to the Alhambra online and in advance to avoid endless queues at the ticket offices. Every day there is a limited number of tickets available and you could run the risk of missing out.

That's why the best option is to buy your ticket for the Alhambra online. This will avoid queues at the ticket office, give you priority access and ensure you get a ticket for the day and time you prefer.

How much does a guided tour of the Alhambra cost?

The price of guided tours of the Alhambra varies depending on the type of tour you book and what is included in the tour. For example, at Hellotickets you can find a guided tour of the Alhambra that includes access to the Generalife and lasts around 3 hours from £30. But beware: this tour does not include the Nasrid Palaces.

If you are looking for a more personalised experience on your guided tour of the Alhambra, you can pay around £120 for a more exclusive version of the guided tour for you and your group. Both include admission with priority access to all monuments.

Guided night tour

The night views of the Alhambra from the famous Mirador de San Nicolás or any corner of the city are a spectacle in themselves, but you also have the opportunity to visit the monument inside at sunset. With the night guided tour, you can also visit the Nasrid Palaces and enjoy even more, if possible, the magic of this great complex, an emblem of Islamic art in Spain. From around £50.

What is the price of the Nasrid Palaces?

Entrance to the Nasrid Palaces is included in the price of tickets to the Alhambra and in most guided tours of the Alhambra, so you won't have to pay extra to access this part of the fortress.

The Alhambra is the most visited monument in Spain and the eighth wonder of the world, so there is great demand to see it. This is especially true of the Nasrid Palaces, the jewel of the monumental complex.

If your dream is to visit the Alhambra and you haven't had the foresight to buy your tickets online in advance of your trip, you can always try your luck at the ticket office at the monument and try to get tickets for the same day, but you run the risk of being left without tickets due to high demand and having to queue for ages for nothing.

Due to conservation and safety reasons, capacity is limited. My advice is to book your tickets to the Alhambra as far in advance as possible, as soon as you book your hotel or flight. If your trip to Granada coincides with public holidays, long weekends or weekends, I recommend doing so at least one or two months before your visit.

Please bear in mind that the Alhambra is the most visited monument in Spain, so there is high demand to visit it both nationally and internationally.

How can I save money when buying tickets for the Alhambra?

The Alhambra in Granada is one of the most popular monuments in the world and, as you can imagine, it is difficult to find discounts, offers or cheap last-minute tickets. However, it is not impossible to save money when buying tickets for the Alhambra. Let me explain how you can do it!

Buying tickets at the ticket office

One option is to try to get a single ticket without a guided tour at the ticket office on the day of your visit. Although they are a little cheaper, I don't recommend this because demand to see the Alhambra is very high and places are limited. It's not worth queuing for ages at the ticket office because tickets usually sell out in no time and your time is also precious.

Take advantage of reduced rates for certain groups

There are discounts for certain groups (European Youth Card holders, EU citizens over 65, people with disabilities, etc.) who can buy tickets to the Alhambra at a lower price than the general public. These people must present a supporting document at the ticket office to qualify for the discount.

With the Granada Card

Buying the Granada Card has several advantages. On the one hand, you will save time as you will not have to queue at the ticket office of each monument to buy tickets. On the other hand , you will save money as this 24-, 48- or 72-hour tourist pass allows you to enter the main attractions of Granada at a flat or reduced rate. It also offers significant discounts on other tourist services.

If you are a foreign traveller

If you are unable to get tickets for the Alhambra during your trip to Granada, don't worry, because you can always visit the free part of the Nasrid palace city and take some beautiful photographs.

  • The walls.
  • The Gate of Justice, which is the most iconic gate in the complex.
  • The Plaza de los Aljibes
  • The Gate of the Carriages
  • The Palace of Charles V, which houses the Alhambra Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts.
  • The Calle Real, the main street of the old Medina, which has been preserved since medieval times.
  • The Parador de Turismo de Granada in the Alhambra, a former 15th-century convent built by the Catholic Monarchs.
  • On the esplanade in front of the palace, you can see the Puerta del Vino (Wine Gate) and even take a souvenir photo with the Albaicín in the background.

Another place you can go for free to enjoy the wonderful Alhambra is the San Nicolás viewpoint in the Albaicín neighbourhood. From there, you will get the best panoramic view of the Andalusian fortress with the Sierra Nevada in the background.

If you are from Granada or a resident of Granada

To visit the Alhambra for free and on your own if you are from Granada or a resident of the city, you must make an online reservation by filling out the form and attaching the required supporting documentation.
