Discover the essence of the Netherlands on an exciting excursion to Marken, Edam and Volendam from Zaanse Schans. On this approximately seven-hour tour, you'll immerse yourself in the rich Dutch tradition and explore the region's enchanting landscapes.
The tour starts in Zaanse Schans, where you can marvel at the iconic windmills that adorn the landscape. Next, we'll head to Volendam, a picturesque harbour town in the province of North Holland. Here, enjoy a clog-making demonstration and immerse yourself in the local culture. You can also marvel at the harbour and the old town, two areas that are often popular with visitors.
From Volendam, we will take a scenic boat trip to Marken. This charming peninsula is connected to the mainland by a dike and is full of colourful, traditional houses built on artificial terracing to protect them from flooding. You'll also get to see Edam, a small town in the commune of Edam-Volendam. It is famous for the Dutch cheese that originated there.
During the whole tour, you will travel comfortably in a luxury coach with WiFi and air-conditioning. In addition, you will taste authentic and delicious Dutch cheeses to complete your experience.
