Step by Step

With this Keukenhof ticket and Amsterdam canal cruise combo, you'll have two of the most typical Dutch springtime plans sorted out without having to book them separately. On the one hand, you can visit Keukenhof, the large flower park near Lisse, which is only open for a few weeks of the year. On the other hand, you will enjoy a 1-hour boat trip on Amsterdam's canals, a comfortable way to get to know the city and relax after walking among the flowers.

Your day starts at Keukenhof, which you will have to reach on your own from Amsterdam or from your accommodation. Once there, you can enter the park directly with your digital ticket, without going through the ticket office. Inside, kilometres of flower-lined paths, spectacular landscaping, lakes, forests, viewpoints and greenhouses displaying tulips, hyacinths, daffodils and many other bulbous species await you.

Keukenhof is considered Europe's most famous spring garden, with millions of bulbs planted each year to create a mosaic of colours that can only be seen between mid-March and mid-May. You can wander around the park at your leisure, choose your favourite areas, take photos, relax in the picnic areas or have a drink at the refreshment points within the grounds.

Back in Amsterdam, the combo is rounded off with a 1-hour cruise along the canals. The boat usually departs from around the Central Station or the Damrak area in the city centre. Before boarding, you must exchange your ticket for a departure time slot at the point indicated on your voucher. Afterwards, all you have to do is show up at the chosen time and get on board.

During the cruise, you'll cruise along some of the city's most iconic canals, while listening to a multilingual audio guide tell you about Amsterdam's history, its leaning houses, 17th-century warehouses, bridges and commercial past. It's a perfect way to rest your legs after a visit to Keukenhof while discovering the city from a different perspective.

This combo is ideal if you want to make the most of a spring day, combining flowers in the morning and canals in the afternoon (or the other way around), with the convenience of a single product and the freedom to organise your schedule to suit you.

We stayed longer at Keukenhof than we thought we would because there are a lot of trails and nooks and crannies. The cruise was very good, although the procedure of exchanging the ticket for an hourly ticket is an extra step.

I liked being able to go on my own without a tour. Keukenhof is a blast and the canal cruise is just the right time to see the centre from the water and relax.

The experience is very well put together, but on the day we went it was windy and at Keukenhof you can feel it because you are outdoors most of the time. Still, it's worth it, and the boat is very welcome afterwards.

I found Keukenhof very pleasant to walk around, even with people. We stopped to rest and have a bite to eat inside the enclosure and then we went on. The cruise was the icing on the cake, very relaxing.
