Discover the cradle of the Renaissance with this day trip to Florence from Rome by high-speed train. You’ll travel in comfort to the Tuscan capital and, once there, explore its historic centre to discover the squares, churches and monuments that have made the city one of Italy’s great artistic treasures.

The experience includes a guided walking tour of Florence, taking in sights such as Piazza del Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptistery, Piazza della Signoria and the Ponte Vecchio. Afterwards, you’ll have some free time to continue exploring the city at your own pace.

The day begins straight from your accommodation, provided it is in a central part of Rome. A hotel pick-up service will take you to Roma Termini station, making it easy to start the tour without having to organise your own journey to the train.

From Roma Termini, you’ll travel by high-speed train to Florence, arriving in the heart of Tuscany to discover a city shaped by art, architecture and the legacy of the Medici.

Once there, you’ll begin a guided tour of the historic centre. You’ll pass through Piazza del Duomo, where you can admire the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Brunelleschi’s dome, Giotto’s Campanile and the Baptistery of San Giovanni. The tour continues through some of the city’s most iconic squares and streets.

You’ll also visit places such as Piazza della Repubblica, Orsanmichele, Piazza della Signoria and the famous Ponte Vecchio, one of the most photographed spots in Florence. The guide’s commentary will help you understand how the city became one of the great cultural centres of the Renaissance.

If you choose the basic option, after the tour you’ll have some free time to explore Florence on your own, visit other monuments, go shopping or stop for a bite to eat at one of its restaurants.

If you’d prefer a more comprehensive experience, you can add a guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery with a pre-booked entry. Inside, you’ll discover works such as Botticelli’s *The Birth of Venus* and *Spring*, as well as pieces by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Titian and Caravaggio. After the visit, you’ll also have some free time before returning to Rome.
